Things to Do in October in Myrtle Beach

Cooler weather is on its way, and pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and evening walks on the beach are in full swing. Summer isn’t the only time of year when the beach is a good place to visit.
During the fall you can enjoy the nice scenery in comfort and take part in the numerous festivals across the Grand Strand.
There are also several spots to hit for the Halloween holiday, from family-friendly activities to things to do out on the town with friends.
October Festivals in Myrtle Beach

Oct. 11-12, 2025 | Little River Waterfront
The 20th annual festival is back, ready to make you drool over dozens of varieties of shrimp. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, enjoy the historical waterfront festival in Little River with more than 100 vendors and activities such as live music, stilt walkers, craft vendors, community organizations, and more. Local restaurants will serve their best dishes and food favorites will be available to munch on throughout the day.

Oct. 18, 2025 | Downtown Loris
A southern comfort food, that many know and love, has evolved over the years and become a central point that brings people together. The Loris Bog-off, operating since 1980, started as a chicken bog cooking competition and is now a festival with over 200 vendors. Spend your time judging the different recipes and enjoying dances, concerts, arts and crafts, and a firework show at the end of the day. The event happens every year on the third Saturday in October and will convince you to try the recipe on your own!

Oct. 11-12, 2025 | The Market Common
Since 1972, people have been crowding around to see various mediums of art from artists all around the country. Art in the Park is a show and sale, open to the public and artists. It runs for three weekends a year in Valor Park, Market Common. All art on display is original work or reproductions of original work from artists, including painting, woodwork, photography, pottery, and more. After the event, you can stroll around Market Common to enjoy one of the eateries or shop around the local boutiques.

Oct. 25, 2025 | Barefoot Landing
Is Barefoot Landing's annual Halloween celebration for the whole family. There are four costume contests which are as follows:
Kids 0 – 3 years old at noon
Kids 4 – 7 years old at 1 pm
Kids 8 – 12 years at 2 pm
Pets at 3 pm
Registration starts at 11 am. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place in all three categories. At 7 pm that evening, there will be a FREE showing of the original Hocus Pocus. All contests and the movie take place on the Dockside Village Stage (across from LuLu’s). Come on out for a day of friendly spooky fun!
October Events and Activities

Oct. 11, 2025 | Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Add another completed race to your list when you sign up for the 13.1-mile mini-marathon in Myrtle Beach! Kicking off at 7 a.m., the route is mapped throughout the downtown area of the city, parts of it running along the coastline allowing wonderful views of the ocean. A 5K is also offered at 7:15 a.m. if you’re looking for a lighter run. It’s a great time for locals and tourists to come together and celebrate their passion for running and the city for all it has to offer.

Oct. 23, 2025 | Pine Lakes Country Club
The Local Palate, in partnership with Visit Myrtle Beach and the James Beard Foundation, brings a bold new event to the Grand Strand-one that puts Myrtle Beach’s rising food scene in the spotlight. Set on the sweeping grounds of the iconic Pine Lakes Country Club, The Grand Strand Chef’s Table is a celebration of coastal cuisine, creative spirit, and community. For one night only, local chefs will be joined by James Beard–recognized talent from across the country to serve up inventive tasting plates that capture the flavor and soul of the Grand Strand. Wander from station to station as you sample dishes that are as ambitious as they are craveable each one paired with sips from standout breweries, boutique wineries, and craft distillers.

Oct. 4-5, 2025 | Myrtle Beach Convention Center
Myrtle Beach’s premier pop-culture event features 150+ vendors, artists, cosplayers, and celebrity guests including Sam Witwer (Star Wars: Clone Wars), Katee Sackhoff (The Mandalorian) and Cal Dodd (voice of Wolverine). The fun runs Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m., with cosplay contests, gaming, and fan experiences for all ages. Tickets are $5 for children, $30 for adults (Saturday Only), or $20 for adults (Sunday Only). Multi-day passes and VIP tickets also available.

Oct. 3 – 5, 2025 | Myrtle Beach Sports Center
Welcome to ‘A Carolina Fall’. If you love antiquing or searching for upscale items, vintage market days will be heaven for you! Walk around the Myrtle Beach Sports Center which has been temporarily transformed into a market full of clothing, jewelry, home décor, furniture, plants, and even more. It’s a great place to find a treasure or discover unique items that have been locally sourced. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday and tickets can be bought at the gate.

Oct. 18 & 19, 2025 | Georgetown
The Front Street in Historic Georgetown is hosting yet again the 36th annual Wooden Boat Show. One of the largest exhibits of its kind in the Southeast, the event will showcase at least 100 wooden boats, both in water and on land. Look in awe at the different designs and details that have been crafted into these boats and watch displays of boatbuilding, a youth sailing regatta, and knot tying, while enjoying various foods. All proceeds from the event will go towards the South Carolina Maritime Museum.
October Shows & Performances

October 17-19, 2025 | Myrtle Beach
Get ready for a weekend of smooth vibes, delicious food, and even greater music. Free for guests, the Myrtle Beach Jazz Fest welcomes guests with a full lineup of musicians. This year features a new location, 2501 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach , across from the MB Convention Center. The festival strives to be a spot for cultural exchange while celebrating music. Bring your chair or towel to lounge on while watching artists like Devon Campbell, Marcus Adams, Hank Bilal, and others. While the event is free, donations are accepted.

Oct. 2-18, 2025 | Pawleys Island
For the first three weeks of October, enjoy numerous bands and artists at The Reserve Golf Club of Pawley’s Island. This festival spans numerous weekends offering different styles and harmonies, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Ticket prices vary depending on the show and seats.

Fall-Themed Events in Myrtle Beach

Barefoot Landing is turning into a backyard Bavaria with Crooktoberfest at Crooked Hammock Brewery, running now through October 13. Expect a not-so-traditional Oktoberfest party complete with festive décor, limited-time fall food and beer specials (think pumpkin beers, apple lagers, and a crispy schnitzel on a pretzel bun), plus backyard games, kids’ activities, and live music. Don’t miss the the corn hole competition on October 4 at 5 p.m. Family-friendly fun (pretzel necklace crafting included) rounds out the celebration.

Oct. 4, 2025 | Barefoot Landing
Pretzels, bratwurst, cheese, and beer… sounds like Oktoberfest has arrived! Spend your day at Barefoot Landing with tasty food, drinks, and good music. Starting at noon, German-themed food will be served at participating restaurants and shops. A $10 wristband can be purchased for a 10% discount on food and beverages (excluding alcohol) at most restaurants. Once you’ve had your fair share of fun, head to the Dockside Village Stage at 3 p.m. to see dogs dressed up for the ‘Every Dog’s A Weiner’ dog contest.

Oct. 4 & 5, 2025 | Brookgreen Gardens
Enjoy the cool weather with a nice outing to Brookgreen Gardens. Full of luscious color year-round, fall is a great time to visit with falling leaves and events. Participate in the Home Weekend Festival for fall fun including a pumpkin patch, hay maze, and food vendors. There will also be pumpkin decorating, $5 for small ones and $9 for large ones, and scarecrow making with individually prepared kits for $5. As an incentive, bring your own clothes to decorate your scarecrow and bring it home for free as a souvenir! Activities are while supplies last; the event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Oct. 11, 2025 | The Market Common
Indulge in the diverse culinary experiences at Market Common through this annual event. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Enjoy 40+ appetizers, entrées, desserts, and specialty items from Market Common eateries. Tickets are $1 each (CASH ONLY), with tastings ranging from 1-5 tickets per item.

Oct. 31, 2025 | Murrells Inlet Marshwalk
Dress up and come out! Festivities will start at the Marshwalk at 5 p.m. with trick or treating for children of all ages. Then, an annual children’s costume contest will follow at 6 p.m., giving awards in the categories of Most Creative, Best Group, Most Funny, and Scariest. The adult costume contest will follow at 7 p.m. with alternative categories. Judges will be strolling the MarshWalk this year looking for the best costumes until 9pm! But remember, you MUST register in between Wahoo’s and Drunken Jack’s between 7:00-8:30pm to be eligible to win prizes.

Oct. 31, 2025 | Broadway at The Beach
From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., families are invited to put on their favorite costumes and head to Broadway at the Beach, where participating establishments will hand out goodies to trick-or-treaters. Later that evening, The Avenue hosts an adults-only Halloween Bash beginning at 7:30 p.m., featuring a live DJ, costume contests with cash prizes, themed drinks, and plenty of spooky fun.
