There's no doubt that June is one of the best months to visit Myrtle Beach. It’s the time that school gets out, the temperature sits consistently in the low 80s, and the ocean stays at an average 78 degrees. Everyone is out and ready to make the most of their summer once this month rolls around. This year is no exception, with countless great festivals and events happening, a bevy of seasonal activities, and the opening of some great new places - you won't want to miss all the fun!

From the return of the ever so popular Carolina Country Music Fest to beach days, cool evenings, and tons of family fun, here are a few things we're excited about this June!

Carolina Country Music Festival

June 5-8, 2025 / Myrtle Beach

Each year, this massive festival brings in about 35,000 country music lovers of all ages to The Beach — not to mention some of the hottest names in country music. This year's headliners include Kid Rock, Jelly Roll, and Lainey Wilson. The 4-day event will kick off on Thursday, June 5th, with Rascal Flatts. The artists plus merchandise, local food trucks, and a venue sitting right on the ocean, make this festival one that you won’t want to miss.

Summer Light: Art by Night

Throughout June from 6 - 10 pm / Murrells Inlet

Experience the tree-draped, garden side of the Grand Strand through glass art created by Craig Mitchell Smith. A summer installation starting in June and running through August is to showcase more than 30 glass sculptures illuminated in numerous colors to create an enchanting atmosphere during the summer nights. Walk throughout the gardens to learn more about the area’s history, explore the different flora and fauna, and check out a special pop-up gallery holding smaller pieces from the exhibition. Each night will also feature a selection of live music, so there’s lots to discover!

Conway Riverfest

Saturday, June 28 from 10am-10pm / Conway

Since 1980, Conway has celebrated red, white, and blue with live music, local food trucks, vendors, fireworks, and children's activities. At Riverfest, there are things to do all day, including entertainment such as a business expo, Artisans Market, golf cart parade, and more. The live music lineup for this year is the legendary rock band Night Ranger, who have sold more than 17 million albums worldwide and are known for their classic hit ‘Sister Christian.’ Wear your most patriotic outfit and join the Conway community at Riverfest.

The 2025 Happy Together Tour is hitting the Grand Strand, featuring famous bands who have come together for this headline, such as The Turtles, Jay and the Americans, Little Anthony, and many more. The tour will be at the Carolina Opry for one night only. Full of 60s pop music, don’t miss your chance to dance the night away to these groovy classics that have stood the test of time for decades. Tickets start at $90 each. Also, this month at the Carolina Opry, The Marshall Tucker Band will perform on June 1st, kickstarting the entertainment lineup.

Surfside Pier Hula and Fire Show

Every Monday at 7pm / Surfside Beach

Bring your beach chairs, towels, and coolers, and enjoy a one-of-a-kind free hula and fire show. Taking place at the wonderfully renovated Surfside Pier, the free performance will run every week through August 12th. Ohana Kahakai takes you on a captivating journey through the Polynesian Islands that is absolutely breathtaking for everyone in the family.

Boathouse Summer Concert Series

Every Sunday at 5pm / Myrtle Beach

Known to the locals as "Sunday Funday," Boathouse has been hosting this amazing concert series since 2008. This event is free, but you may want to consider arriving early to avoid lines at the door. Grab dinner and then walk outside to enjoy some of the best free entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. With lawn style seating, bring your chair or blanket and end your Sunday right. This June the schedule of acts is as follows:

Music on Main is a beloved concert series that takes place on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach. Every Thursday starting in June, bring your chair to sit back, relax, and enjoy some live music. Head down after a long day of soaking up the sun, and enjoy the fun of North Myrtle Beach, plus a chance to shop around local businesses. This beloved communal event is different each time with new music and an opportunity to get to know the people of North Myrtle Beach. The lineup for June is:

Cool off with a Watersports Adventure

The season is here, the water is warm and it's officially time to begin enjoying ALL that The Beach has to offer. June is the perfect time to cool off with a great watersports experience here in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Waves water park is now open for the season and has a brand-new slide for visitors this season. Shark Wake Park is open daily offering both wakeboarding and the family fun Aqua Park — a huge inflatable playground atop the water. Additional options include thrilling fun like parasailing, banana boats, jet skis, as well as more calm pursuits like dolphin tours, kayaking, and paddle boarding. There's really no end to the fun you can have on the water here.

Try a New Restaurant

It's no secret that there are a multitude of great places to eat in Myrtle Beach — in fact, we've got more than 2,000 restaurants across the Grand Strand. But with that many, how do you choose? Of course, you can opt for an iconic staple, but why not get adventurous this June and try something new? There are a ton of new restaurants that have opened this offseason that we think you'll enjoy. There are several new spots in downtown Myrtle Beach, including Boteco VIP Latin Bar & Cuisine, Flavor Hills Restaurant & Bar, and Uptown Bistro & Bakery, to name a handful. On the south end, you can find Sloppy Jose’s Cantina & Seafood Grill in Murrells Inlet and Drunken Jack's or opt for spots like Cape Fear Seafood Company, Bin 2004, or last year’s newest thing - Big Chill Island House (shown above) on the north side of town. Catch a Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game

Let’s cheer on our home team as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play throughout the month. June is a beautiful time of year to go out to the ballgame! They’ll be playing the Augusta Green Jackets on June 1st, the Hickory Crawdads from June 10-15, and finally the Fayetteville Woodpeckers from June 17-22. Each night has its own special theme, too, including Wet Nose Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursday, and Friday night fireworks! Be sure to stick around after the game for kids to run the bases!

Celebrate the Summer Through Fireworks

Spend your day at Myrtle Beach’s one-stop shop for restaurants, stores, boutiques, amusement rides, golf, water thrills, and so much more. Broadway at the Beach has been a staple in the area for a long time, and to make the experience sweeter, they offer a fireworks display every Tuesday night from June 3rd to August 26th overlooking Lake Broadway. The display will take place each week at 10 pm, weather permitting.

She is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but has resided in Myrtle Beach for 14 years.
