It’s that time of year to celebrate Dad on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19! And if you’re looking for a fun idea on how to make papa’s day a happy one, we’ve come up with nine activities that will put a smile on his face. Take a look!

Feed Him, of course!

There’s no better way to bring Daddy joy than through his stomach at one of the hundreds of restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area. For breakfast, fill up at Johnny D’s Waffles and Bakery or Blueberry’s Grill. And grab a burger, seafood, views, and brews at the oceanfront River City Café in Surfside Beach, RipTydz in Myrtle Beach, or the newest hotspot, The Hangout at Broadway at the Beach, for lunch or dinner.

Give Dad a Craft Beer

The Grand Strand plays host to a lineup of craft breweries, where Dad can kick back a few beers and kick back and relax. Many also feature live music, lawn games, and more to add to the festivities. Take your pick and check out Grand Strand Brewing Company just off the boardwalk, Tidal Creek Brewhouse in The Market Common, New South Brewery, or Crooked Hammock Brewery in Barefoot Landing.

Have the Need for Speed?

Pop may need to fuel his adrenaline with a quick lap around one of the beach’s racetracks that’s fun for kids of all ages, such as The Track Fun Park and Broadway Grand Prix, which also feature mini golf, an arcade, snack bar, and Father’s Day specials.

Play Ball!

Catch a Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball game for Father’s Day. Pelicans Ballpark hosts the minor league baseball team, which includes innings of action-packed fun, pre-game snacks and drinks, and post-game fireworks on Saturdays.

Surf & Turf

The Grand Strand is known for its 60 miles of beautiful beaches, so why not make it a day of relaxation, sun, and family fun on a spot somewhere on the beach? Or, if you’d rather hit the water, book a kayaking tour with J & L Kayaks, rent a Jet Ski with Downwind Sails, or a fishing charter out of Crazy Sister Marina.

Ride On!

Bring out Dad’s inner kid at one of the family-friendly amusement parks in Myrtle Beach, like the Funplex, featuring seven rides, from classics to those for speed seekers, and the landmark Family Kingdom Amusement Park right off Ocean Boulevard, with 35 thrilling rides, including its signature Swamp Fox Roller Coaster.

Treat Him Like Royalty

Make your patriarch feel like a king by stepping back in time at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, where knights compete in a joust, and you feast on a four-course meal with your hands. It’s the Medieval Times, after all!

Take a Swing at Golf

Myrtle Beach is the country’s golf Mecca, so book a tee time for you and Dad at any of the 90 championship golf courses on the Grand Strand. Or, if you’d rather try another twist on a round of golf, choose to play with the family at one of our area’s 30 mini-golf courses, or putt-putt, as locals call it, or reserve a bay at Topgolf, a multi-level driving range that also serves a full menu of food and drinks.

Play Date

If it’s all fun and games for Father’s Day, check out one of the beach’s arcades to get your game on, Dave & Buster’s at Broadway at the Beach that’s lined with arcade games, TVs, dining rooms, and bars. Or head over to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Myrtle Beach, also located at Broadway at the Beach, for an football experience Dad won't forget!
