Things To Do
Summer is a peak time to explore everything The Beach has to offer. Here's some suggestions for activities to enjoy this month:
Get ready for a day of family fun at the Myrtle Duck Festival on July 25 at The Market Common's Grand Pond. This community celebration features a giant rubber duck race, a helicopter duck drop, live music, food trucks, interactive exhibits, local vendors, and activities for all ages. Guests can also explore the Community Impact Village, check out the Big Duckin' Truck Show & Tailgate, and enjoy live art installations throughout the day. Best of all, the festival supports local organizations making a difference across the Grand Strand.
When the sun’s too much or the rain rolls in, indoor attractions keep the vacation fun going. Kids (and adults) love places like WonderWorks, Ripley’s Aquarium, Sky Zone, EdVenture Children’s Museum, and Hollywood Wax Museum. These climate-controlled playlands are packed with science, thrills, and interactive exhibits that make learning feel like a bonus.
After a long beach day, nothing beats a waterfront meal with a great view. Head to Barefoot Landing to check out spots like Greg Norman's Australian Grille, Big Chill Island House or Lulu's. Opt for an evening on the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk for standout restaurants like Drunken Jack's, Wicked Tuna or Dead Dog Saloon. These dining spots pair fresh seafood with laid-back vibes and frequent live music. Whether you're craving oysters or a steak with a sunset, this is the place to find it.
July is the peak season for Myrtle Beach watersports, and there's no shortage of ways to cool off with a little adrenaline. Whether you're jet skiing across the Intracoastal, parasailing over the Atlantic, or catching a thrill on a banana boat, you’ll find options with trusted operators like Downwind Sails, Express Watersports, and Action Water Sportz. These outfitters offer the full experience—gear, guides, and unforgettable ocean views.
Even if you’ve been coming to Myrtle Beach for years there's always something new and July is the perfect time to explore new restaurants and attractions. Check out fresh flavors at Flavor Hills on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk or savor elegant cuisine and wines at Bin 2004 in North Myrtle Beach. You can also dive into immersive play at Interactive Experience Unleashed in Myrtle Beach or Redline Simcade in Surfside Beach. Whether it’s a next-level meal or an all-new adventure, Myrtle Beach keeps evolving. Find more ideas in our New Restaurants in Myrtle Beach and Best New Attractions roundups.
If you’re looking to slow things down, spend some time outdoors surrounded by nature. Wander the sculpture gardens and Lowcountry zoo at Brookgreen Gardens, hike along maritime forest trails at Myrtle Beach State Park, or watch the birds at Huntington Beach State Park. These beautiful spaces offer a peaceful break from the buzz—and they’re just a short drive from the beach.
