There’s a buzz in downtown Myrtle Beach these days.
Beyond the iconic Boardwalk, SkyWheel, and sandy shores, the heart of the city is in the middle of an exciting revitalization, with a creative Arts & Innovation District, fresh restaurants and attractions, and major upgrades to longtime favorites.

8th & 9th Avenues North and Broadway Street
Downtown Myrtle Beach's creative heart, the Arts & Innovation District is a revitalized stretch that's buzzing with new energy.
Anchored by Grand Strand Brewing Co. and the lively Nance Plaza out front, the area hosts regular events like art walks, live music and community events. From top-notch restaurants like Winna's Kitchen, Boteco VIP and Swig & Swine to The Tasting Room on 9th wine bar and The Dolly Llama ice cream shop, it's also full of local flavor.
The arts scene is blossoming too, with new galleries like Gallery 320, showcasing work by local and regional artists across every medium, William H. Miller Studios & Fine Art on 8th Avenue North, Vision Arts Gallery, all adding creative energy to the streetscape.
Among the most anticipated additions is a new 300-seat performing arts theater, a partnership with Coastal Carolina University now taking shape in the heart of the district. 300 4th Avenue S, Myrtle Beach
The largest seaside amusement park in the Carolinas, oceanfront Family Kingdom is a Myrtle Beach classic with more than 35 rides, anchored by the beloved Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The park added several new thrill rides for the milestone, and there’s an even bigger headliner on the way: an all-new Rocky Mountain Construction single-rail Raptor coaster, standing 100 feet tall with three inversions and billed as the Southeast’s first. Originally targeted for 2026, it’s now slated to debut in 2027, so the anticipation is building.
