Where to Eat in Downtown Myrtle Beach: The Best Restaurants and Bars

  By  Shelbi Ankiewicz
Family Fun Peaches Corner

There are nearly 2,000 restaurants across the Grand Strand, and some of the best are in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The downtown area is home to numerous attractions, including the SkyWheel, multiple Ripley’s attractions, the arts and innovation district, and more. So naturally, after a day or night out on the town, good food is in high demand. From fall-off-the-bone, tender ribs, to bowls of hot soup, and classic hot dogs, Downtown Myrtle Beach has things you could eat for days. If visiting in the off-season, be sure to call in advance to ensure establishments are still open.

Food is not only about the taste… it’s also about the presentation of what you’re doing to taste. Right off the ocean, Art Burger produces juicy burgers and sushi. An unlikely combination, but one that will leave you surprised. Each burger and sandwich on the menu is somehow related to art, such as Picasso, The Scream, Remington, and Michelangelo, and all the walls are covered floor to ceiling in artworks that are actually for sale. It’s a great spot to hit after the beach or to as a late lunch before hitting the boulevard.

2. Boteco VIP
503 9th Ave N

New to the area in 2024, Boteco has been spicing things up with its Brazilian cuisine. Many restaurants have launched in the arts and innovation district to bring more traction to The Beach. Boteco is a part of that initiative because of its location. Bringing Brazilian and American dishes together, you can try all types of different things, like sauteed and seasoned shrimp that’s served in half of a pineapple. Or, Brazilian classics like moqueca baiana, bisteca grelhada, and more. They also do lunch specials throughout the week, where you can try the dish of the day for a lesser price.

819 N Kings Highway

Get your draft favorite or a seasonal beer that you can only find at The Beach! Located in the arts and innovation district, GSB is a 13,000 square foot building, which used to be the Edwards Five and Dime Store when it was first constructed in 1952. Now, after being vacant for ten years, the area has been revived with hops and is open seven days a week. Everyone is welcome, families and furry friends included. When visiting, try some craft beers like the Airbrush hazy IPA, Jolene red ale, or Beach Easy wheat.

Landshark Bar & Grill
4. Landshark Bar & Grill
1110 N Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach

It’s pretty hard to miss this spot, considering it's underneath one of Myrtle Beach’s largest landmarks: The Skywheel. Downtown off the boardwalk, it’s arguably one of the best restaurants to hit if you want to visit the beach but feel like you’re on an island. With a wrap-around bar and open windows in the summertime that allow a large breeze to sweep through, it’s the next best thing you can get with a drink in your hand. Landshark is a part of the Margaritaville franchise, so you know they have good cocktails. The menu is wide with land and sea dishes, sandwiches, salads, and multiple appetizers. They also have a huge lunch menu available Monday through Friday until 3 p.m.

Moe Moon's Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk (next to Plyler Park)

Right on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, Moe Moon’s is on the corner of the main stretch of attractions. With a surplus of outdoor seating and a menu with all your summertime favorites, it’s an automatic stop for many, every time they come to The Beach. Order a platter of chicken tenders or a fried seafood basket. Or, if you want to go lighter, get a sandwich or taco. Pair each of your dishes with a fruity drink to cool off, or get a giant fish bowl (you can try to finish it yourself; however, we’d probably recommend a partner!) Spend your afternoon or evening here, listening to the ocean waves while chomping away.

local's fav Pier 14 Restaurant & Lounge
6. Pier 14
1306 N. Ocean Blvd. (Myrtle Beach Boardwalk)

You can’t get closer to eating near the ocean than with Pier 14. Hence the name, this restaurant is located at the end of the pier, so if you sit near the windows or on the outside deck, you feel like you’re surrounded by Myrtle’s blueish/green saltwater waves. It’s a spot for any occasion, whether the family is in town, you want to do a girls' night out, or just to go earlier in the day for some light bites. Get seafood favorites like fish and chips, poke tuna nachos, scallops, and grilled salmon. Afterward, check out the gift shop next door and walk the pier to see what people have caught throughout the day.

Peaches Corner Restaurant Myrtle Beach
7. Peaches Corner
900 North Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach

Whether you visited Myrtle Beach several years ago or several decades ago, Peaches Corner was sure to have been around. One of the oldest restaurants at The Beach, it opened its doors in 1937 and has been family-owned ever since. What used to be three locations is now one, but it’s one of the beating hearts of the city. While its menu has widened since the 1930s, nothing beats getting an original footlong hot dog, fries, and a milkshake. Enjoy it on one of the barstools lining the restaurant, or take it to go for a picnic on the beach.

RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar
8. RipTydz Oceanfront Grille
1210 N Ocean Blvd.

A little further down Ocean Boulevard in a huge multi-story building with valet parking, you’ll find Riptydz. With over 500 seats, a rooftop bar, happy hour, and live music, there’s always a party going on! The menu has everything from a seafood tower, duck wontons, crab buckets, burgers, fried Coastal platters, and steaks. You can find seating outside or inside in the AC and get drinks to match your dishes, whether it’s a beer or one of their signature cocktails that can be served in containers bigger than your palm. Choose wisely! Then sit back and enjoy your ocean oasis.

Swig & Swine
9. Swig & Swine
525 Broadway St., Myrtle Beach

One of the hubs of a revitalized Arts + Innovation District, this is one of the top places in town to enjoy good old-fashioned BBQ, with a slight flavor twist. Its menu packed full of beef brisket, pulled pork, sausage, chicken, pork belly, smoked turkey, and St. Louis ribs. Start your meal with pork rind appetizers topped with Tabasco honey, blue cheese, or pimento cheese, then enjoy a BBQ plate or sandwich before concluding with a chocolate bourbon pecan or Nutter Butter pie. Pair your dishes with a specialty cocktail or their fruity non alcoholic drinks to stir up your flavor palette a little more.

Winna’s is three things in one: a restaurant, gathering space, and market. This faith-based restaurant aims to bring people together and give back to its community through strong acts of kindness. Try their unique dishes, such as the Silly Millie, which are lemon ricotta pancakes served with blueberry compote, three cheese toast served on top of focaccia and drizzled with honey, or the 20-minute cast iron omelet. They also have a bakery and some coffee items if you’re just looking for a pick-me-up to get your day started.

A longtime staple in the area for pho, stir fry, lo mein, and fried rice is Vietnam House. Right at the intersection of Highway 501 and 17 Business, this spot is a hidden gem, known by numerous locals. It’s very cozy with a minimal design, creating a laid-back atmosphere that you can visit at any point of the day, but it is important to know that they have lunch specials. The restaurant is open all week long, excluding Tuesdays.
