7 Outdoor Team-Building Activities for Your Group in Myrtle Beach

If your crew needs a team-building reboot and your game plan is to head to Myrtle Beach, we have plenty of team-building activities to lead you in the right direction.
Take a look at some of our suggestions and take notes for your trip! Go, team!

Visit Murrells Inlet offers a few refreshing boat tours and eco-cruises for your team to take a deep breath, regroup, and surround themselves in the great outdoors of the stunning inlet aboard “The Explorer.” There’s a sunset cruise through the marsh with views of wildlife, historic home sites, and, of course, the sunset. The history tour takes your group through the smaller channels at high tide from the MarshWalk to Huntington Beach State Park and out to the rock jetties before returning to the main channel all while hearing stories that make up the rich history of Murrells Inlet. Also try out the Blue Wave Adventures Dolphin Watch Tour or a sunset cruise or pontoon boat rental with Express Watersports.

Work together, support each other, and face your fears together on any of the outdoor ropes courses in the Myrtle Beach area. After all, there’s nothing more symbolic than physically climbing upwards and onwards as a team. We suggest Radical Ropes Adventure Park, which also has a 70-foot-tall Leap of Faith, Soar + Explore that towers above the lake in the center of Broadway at the Beach and Go Ape amidst the treetops in the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex.

The Myrtle Beach area is surrounded by water, so get your team out there! From the ocean to the marshes to the Intracoastal Waterway, you have your choice of where your team-building water sports should take place. Sign your group up for a kayak or jet ski tour, or a fun banana boat ride that will have you laughing out of the office.

We have 60 miles of sand stretching along the Myrtle Beach coastline, so take advantage of it and set up a spot on the beach for team-building activities! Set up tug-of-war, fun relay races, flag football, frisbee, a sandcastle-building contest, and more, followed by a dip in the ocean. We suggest heading to either of our less crowded state parks, Huntington Beach or Myrtle Beach State Park, where you can also plan a team picnic afterward at any of their shaded pavilions.

Mini golf, or what we call putt-putt around here, is a popular outdoor sport in Myrtle Beach for friends and family. Our town is actually known as the Mini Golf Capital of the World because of our dozens of courses. Take your pick of one, or team up and compete along the Myrtle Beach Mini Golf Trail with fairways built around waterfalls, caves, pirate ships, and more obstacles. If you're at Broadway at the Beach, head on over to PopStroke or TopGolf for a few hours of team building!
Plan your next event during the Myrtle Beach Classic as Myrtle Beach hosts the PGA Tour Event May 9-12, 2024.

A scavenger hunt is a great way for your team to work together to find a list of items as time ticks. Have them pair up or combine into smaller teams to hunt down clues that you have created and are located throughout well-known locations in Myrtle Beach. Or, why not have the scavenger hunt set in beautiful Brookgreen Gardens, where team members can tiptoe through the tulips and find sculptures, historic sites, and more?

Volunteer as a team to boost morale by giving back to the local Myrtle Beach community. Volunteering options outdoors include picking up litter or beach sweeps or taking on a home improvement project for someone in need in the community. It will make the heart feel good!
