Things to Do on a Father-Son Trip to Myrtle Beach

Make the Most of Your Time Together

Myrtle Beach is the perfect place to make a spectacular Father-Son day of bonding while on vacation. There is no better place in America than our area to reward fathers and sons with the quintessential day of camaraderie, laughter, and great memories on our playground coast.

Our beaches are white and pristine for fathers and sons to enjoy the oceanfront with a great day playing games like ladder golf, Frisbee, or engaging in boogie board races at the water's edge.

Spend the afternoon fishing off one of our eight piers located from North Myrtle Beach to Garden City Beach. Take your son fishing on a half-day or full-day deep-sea-fishing excursion from one of the many professional charters in our area like Fisher of Men Charters. You can also fish along the Intracoastal Waterway with Captain Smiley Fishing Charters.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of surf fishing in your bare feet. From Little River, all the way down to Pawleys Island, there are so many great spots to catch black drum, trout, whiting, and flounder.

Be sure to visit Myrtle Beach State Park, known as a wonderful place for the quiet solitude for any angler's surf fishing adventure. Huntington Beach State Park, located on the south end of Murrells Inlet, is also great for isolated surf fishing with its beachhead jutting far out into the ocean.

If you don't enjoy fishing there are many boat tours in our area. Hurricane Fleet  and Crazy Sister Dolphin Tours & Cruises offer deep-sea fishing and dolphin cruises of all the notable sights and incredible views of our coast.

Fathers and sons love a day at the amusement park! If go-carts are more your speed, then Broadway Grand Prix has seven kart tracks, plus an arcade, mini golf, and a snack bar. The Track is also an action-packed choice with go-karts, thrill zones, and arcade games.

Golf is another easy way to add a little friendly competition to the day. The Myrtle Beach area is known as the Golf Capital of the World, with more than 80 courses to choose from. It’s also the Mini Golf Capital of the World, with plenty of creative mini golf courses for fathers and sons to see who can claim bragging rights on the putting green.
