Ways to Say, "Happy Mother's Day," to Mom with Love
Sunday, May 12, is this year’s day to celebrate Mom on Mother’s Day. Where and how should you do that? We have a Mother of a list of ideas to help you plan this special holiday to celebrate the Queen of the House.
Brunch with Your Bunch
Mama shouldn’t have to cook today, so treat her to brunch (or lunch) out at any of the many restaurants in Myrtle Beach and let their chefs take over. Here are some top brunch spots we recommend. You and your family could also lunch rooftop and oceanfront at RipTydz Oceanfront Grille and Rooftop Bar or have lunch or dinner come to you by booking the GringoNinja Private Chef Service, which preps and cooks right at your home. And the new Big Chill Island House in Barefoot Landing is hosting a special Mother’s Day event, featuring tropical cocktails, fresh seafood, and killer views.
Pamper Her from Head to Toe
Mommy needs a Spa Day on Mother’s Day or any day, so gift her with a massage, facial, or package combination where she can breathe, relax, and unwind. While there are oodles of spas in the Myrtle Beach area, two that we like are the luxe Cinzia Spa within the North Beach Resort and the Hibiscus Spa located in the Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes.
Flower Her with Attention
Instead of the traditional bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day, hand over tickets to the 4th annual Spring Wine Festival at Brookgreen Gardens for a pre-celebration on Saturday, May 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. These nationally renowned botanical and sculpture gardens are heavenly. The festival takes place in the oak grove near Pegasus in the gardens, where guests will enjoy wine tastings and live music.
Give Her Retail Therapy
There are plenty of places Mom can shop’ til she drops in the Myrtle Beach area to find herself something special. Try any of the unique boutiques, malls, and outlets, such as Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, The Market Common, The Hammock Shops, two Tanger Outlets locations, the Coastal Grand Mall, and more.
Make a Playdate
If Mama likes golf, she’s in luck, because the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, the beach’s first-ever PGA TOUR event, will debut May 9-12, with the final round on Mother’s Day at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. More golf options in the mini-golf realm include TopGolf and the new PopStroke, two high-tech mini golf courses at Broadway at the Beach. If Mom prefers water over land, rent a kayak or Jet Ski, or fly sky-high with her on a Parasail ride.
Entertain Her
It’s showtime! And Mommy is in the spotlight on Mother’s Day! Reserve a special seat for her at one of Myrtle Beach’s nationally ranked live shows performed on stage, including The Carolina Opry, Alabama Theatre, and Legends in Concert. For a unique live show, check out Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, where jousts, swordplay, horse showmanship and more are appeared on the sands in the center of the arena.
