Barefoot Landing is a unique combination of specialty stores, tasty restaurants and eateries, and things to do all in one place. It’s nestled alongside the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach and is a must-see during your Myrtle Beach vacation. They have wonderful annual events, live music, great restaurants, and plenty of family-friendly fun all year round. It’s also very dog-friendly with specialty shops for your pooch and water dishes outside of many retailers around the complex.

Shop Til’ You Drop

Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as you walk around the shops along the creeks and waterway at Barefoot Landing. The complex houses everything from jewelry stores and trendy boutiques to a store dedicated to all things Beef Jerky and another one for purple. Stock up on everything you need to wear around the beach at Ron Jon Surf Shop and Tara Grinna Swimwear Shop. Other notable favorites include The Mole Hole, M.R. Ducks, Illusions, and Crabby Jack’s General Store. Barefoot Landing offers a Preferred Member Card for extra deals and savings!

Restaurants at Barefoot Landing

Craving Italian, Mexican, burgers, waffles, chicken wings, or fresh seafood? Barefoot Landing has a restaurant for that (and then some)! Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s has a huge menu and is a great spot for families with little ones with a fun beach and plenty of seating. Greg Norman Australian Grille is a great date night spot with its wood-grilled steaks, extensive wine list, and amazing waterway views. Grab a seat around the humungous bar at Taco Mundo Kitchen y Cantina and order a seasonal sangria and a few of their creative taco concoctions. You can literally catch a fish at Flying Fish Public Market and Grill and they’ll cook it to your liking in their Seattle-like kitchen!

Other fan-favorite restaurants include Umberto’s, Blueberry’s Grill, Dick’s Last Resort, Café de Paris, River City Café, LandShark Bar & Grill, Ultimate California Pizza, and Wild Wing Café.

Get ready for desserts like no other all around Barefoot! Among the sweet lineup is The Crafty Cow, The Fudgery, Sweet Molly’s Creamery (my kids’ personal favorite), Wee R Sweetz, River Street Sweets, Bake Sale, and Byrd’s Famous Cookies.

Grab a Drink

Enjoy the beautiful waterway views with a cold drink in hand at a few great spots around Barefoot Landing. Start with a wine tasting at Duplin Winery where you can enjoy a flight of everyone’s favorite Muscadine wine. Crooked Hammock Brewery brews its beers in-house with seasonal flavors. Pick up a six-pack to-go when you head home!  They offer a great backyard setup with games as well as their own 360-degree bar on Tortuga Island overlooking the water. You can try even more South Carolina wines at Carolina Vineyards Winery or grab a bottle of Moonshine or flavored vodkas from Kentucky Mist Distillery. Need to sit for a spell? Pull up a chair on the lakefront deck and grab a craft beer from Bully’s Pub and Grill.

Things to Do

There are plenty of great spots to play around Barefoot Landing and lots of fun attractions. Wander around and you’ll find several playgrounds for your kids and great places to grab a family photo with fun themes. Test your skills at the 48-foot Mountain of Youth Ropes Course at LuLu’s with 26 different obstacles. There’s also a Beach Arcade located inside next to the course. Don’t miss your chance to see Utan the “King of Crocs” at Alligator Adventure along with his other alligator friends, birds, frogs, reptiles, and even Mountain Lions.

There’s always a great live entertainment lineup at Barefoot Landing all year round. Alabama Theatre is home to their popular variety shows ONE: The Show and The South’s Grandest Christmas Show as well as comedy acts and special concerts. You can always find great live music next door at House of Blues with great tribute bands, live concerts on The Deck and a great restaurant inside.

Annual Events at Barefoot Landing

One of the best parts about Barefoot Landing (besides everything we’ve already mentioned) is their fantastic family-friendly annual events. They have a huge lineup in the summer with something happening every night of the week during their SummerFest event held from early June through August. Septemberfest is always fun with the Duplin Winery Grape Stomp, stilt walkers, character visits, beer and wine tastings, and lots more. They also host BooFest! with a fun costume contest for kids and your dogs plus chances for trick-or-treating every Halloween at participating shops around the complex.

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Barefoot Landing is a favorite among locals and visitors, and they feature a dazzling fireworks display immediately after. There are plenty of times to see fireworks throughout the year including every Monday from June through August, Labor Day Weekend, and New Year’s Eve.
