Fall is Full of Family Festivals & Events in Surfside Beach
Aside from the warm, summer-like weather that’s the norm this time of year, all the fall feels are for real.
That means it's fall festival season around here at the beach, and Surfside Beach hosts its share of special events to make autumn a great time to visit.
If you're visiting this fall, make your way to one or all of the great events below:
Surfside Beach Farmers Market
Shop your way through this weekly farmers market that features locally grown and crafted products, like fresh produce, local honey, farm-fresh eggs, homemade pet food and treats, meats, baked goods, artisanal soaps, potted plants, handmade jewelry, coffee, pottery, and more.
Festival of Arts & Crafts Market
Treat yourself to a day at the park under the tree shade and find a special treasure made by local artists, crafters, bakers, and more. Vendors sell everything from handmade jewelry to crafts to vintage apparel, sweet and savory treats, and more.
End of Summer Fireworks Festival
End your summer with a bang at Surfside’s End of Summer Fireworks Festival. The fireworks show off the pier starts around 9 p.m., but there’s more fun to be had in the pier parking lot leading up to the main event, including live music by Jennifer & South Bound Band, arts and crafts vendors, DJ Louie, several food trucks, a Kids Zone with a foam play area, face painting, bounce house and more, plus giveaways. The parking lot and pier itself will be closed during the event, and beach access will be limited closer to the pier, but a free shuttle service via Tito’s Trolley is available.
9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
This third annual event, hosted by the Town of Surfside Beach and the Surfside Beach Fire Department, pays tribute to all public safety members who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. All are invited to join in the official climb at 8 a.m. on the monumental stairs of the Surfside Pier 26 times up and down to represent the 2,200 stairs many first responders climbed at the World Trade Center. The climb is free; firefighters and police officers are encouraged to wear their protective gear or, if you’d like to simulate the weight of protective gear, you can wear a 90-pound weighted vest.
Celebrate Surfside Beach Festival
Surfside’s Business Square will be bustling during this sixth annual festival with activities for the entire family, including food, drinks, music, and more entertainment, like a dunking booth.
Surfside Family Festival
Known as "The Family Beach", Surfside has always been serious about catering to families and this is no exception. This annual festival is packed with a day of food, fun, and family-friendly activities. Take in two stages of live music, more than 125 arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, and a fun-filled Kids Zone.
Halloween Car Show & Shuck-O-Ween
There’s plenty to see, taste, and do at this combo event on Halloween before you and your family hit the Saturday evening trick-or-treat scene. The annual Halloween Hot Rod Car Show, thrown by the Myrtle Beach Car Club, will showcase the best of the best in area hot rods, with owners competing for a ton of trophies, including Best Decorated, People’s Choice, and Kid’s Choice, plus a 50/50 raffle, where half of the cash goes to the winner and the other half to local charities. Then, there’s the overlapping Shuck-O-Ween event, where Neal & Pam’s is hosting an oyster roast, costume contest, bounce houses, face painting, games, ice cream, and live music performed by Joe’s On Call.
Surfside Beach Turkey Trot
NS Promos’ 17th annual Turkey Trot 5K and Gobbler Kids Dash (50 yards) is the time to get your steps in on Thanksgiving Day. Think of it as family time as you run along Ocean Boulevard and the neighborhoods of Surfside Beach before you all sit at the table and give thanks. Awards are given, and all skill levels, both runners and walkers, are welcome!
