Time to Dust off the Golf Clubs and Play a Round in Myrtle Beach

With the weather warming up, the days are longer, and the grass is greener, and the fairways in Myrtle Beach – the golf capital of the world – are calling your name! Myrtle Beach is known for our golf courses developed by some of the top designers in the country and all varying in difficulty level. We are sharing a few of the best golf courses at The Beach, but there are over 90 premier golf courses in the area to choose from.

Myrtle Beach National Golf Club

First, King's North, located at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club, is an Arnold Palmer-designed gem, offering several of the Grand Strand’s most memorable holes, including the par five 6th hole, known as "The Gambler.” This centrally located Myrtle Beach course regularly ranks on all sorts of lists, from Golf Digest to Golf for Women, including Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Public Courses in America.”

Norman Course at the Barefoot Resort

The Norman Course at the Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach is an excellent option featuring seven holes on the Intracoastal Waterway. This course was designed by Greg Norman, and it’s a par 72, offering difficulty for any level of golfer.

Caledonia Golf and Fish Club

Next, the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island boasts the 18 holes among live oaks and blooming flowers. Caledonia is one of the most highly ranked golf courses in the Southeast, and it’s ranked in the top 100 public golf courses in the U.S. by Golf Digest. This course was built on land that was once a rice plantation that produced more than 700,000 pounds of rice. The Caledonia Grillroom is the perfect post-golf lunch spot, open daily.

Grande Dunes Resort Course

Lastly, the Grande Dunes Resort Course is an 18-hole course that boasts expansive Bermuda fairways and five holes along the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s still a relatively new addition to the Myrtle Beach area in comparison with some other courses and holds a host of recognitions like “Best New Course” from Golf Magazine. The Mediterranean-style clubhouse includes a veranda that overlooks the club's 18th green, providing a scenic finish to a great day of golf.
