Sensory-Friendly Fun for the Whole Family
Myrtle Beach is proud to offer a range of sensory-friendly events year-round, courtesy of the Champion Autism Network. Simply present your Autism Travel Card (ATC) to enjoy reduced admission fees. There are so many activities your family will enjoy!
Family Fun Day
September 23, 9:30 am, Myrtle Beach State Park
The Myrtle Beach State Park is offering families a discounted park admission of $8 per car. You just need to show your ATC
card to get that discounted rate. The day begins at 9:30 am with Catch Of the Day at the end of the fishing pier. Find out what creatures are lurking around the fishing pier as local anglers show off their catch. Fish, sharks, jellyfish, and stingrays, you never know what we might see. The creatures in our saltwater pool will change as new critters are caught and who knows what they might be! Participants will have the opportunity to get their hands wet as they touch marine creatures in the pool. At 10:45 am check out Live Creatures Drop In at the nature center. Enjoy meeting and touching some live creatures from both the forest and the ocean. Creatures may include crabs, snails, and snakes. Shelter B-3 will be reserved for games, crafts, and lunch. Please bring your sack lunch!
Birthday Bowling Bash
October 8, 11:00 am, Myrtle Beach Bowl
Come enjoy sensory-friendly bowling for the whole family at Myrtle Beach Bowl! Music will be down, lights will be up, and lots of room to move around. Games cost $1, shoe rentals are $1, and delicious snacks such as hotdogs, chicken nuggets, or grilled cheese, will be available at a discounted price. Everyone can celebrate their October birthday at 11:45 by singing Happy Birthday and having cupcakes compliments of Kroger's Carolina forest. Families can rest assured their special birthday kids will be celebrating among friends! Parents/Caregivers are to attend and remain at the event for the duration.
Sensory Friendly Jump at Big Air
October 22, 9:00-10:00 am, Big Air
Autism Ready Big Air, will be hosting a sensory friendly jump from 9:00-10:00 am. Show your ATC card and get $13 for an hour of jumping and add an hour for an additional $8, socks not included. This event is perfect for your child to burn off some of that energy and great for those who are sensory seekers!
All You CAN Eat Pancake Dinner
November 9, 5:00 pm, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin
Come join us for All You CAN Eat Pancakes at Flapjacks Pancake Cabin to benefit Champion Autism Network! Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door. With each ticket you will get one serving of your choice sausage or bacon, soda, tea or coff ee and all you CAN eat pancakes!
Family Day at Ripley’s Aquarium
November 18, 9:00 am, Ripley’s Aquarium
Join Ripley’s for their sensory friendly family day. House lights will be turned up and music/sound eff ects will be turned down. Noise canceling headphones available at guest services. Discounted admission with your ATC card. Be sure to get your special Selfi e Scavenger Hunt sheet from the Guest Services desk for a chance to win a prize!
Sensory Friendly Movie: Wish
November 25, 10:00 am, Grand 14 Movie Theater, Market Common
Bring your ATC card and get in for free at Grand 14 Movie Theater in Market Common! Lights up, sound down and everyone is free to move around. Doors open at 9:30 and the movie starts at 10:00 am. All drinks and concessions are $1.00. This event is perfect for your entire family to enjoy together!
