Oceanfront Resorts in Myrtle Beach with the Best Beach Access

  By  Ashley Daniels

The Myrtle Beach coastline is lined with spectacular resorts, but we have decided to narrow them down to those oceanfront resorts that boast a little more private beachfront access in quieter sections of the beach and less crowds for guests who prefer that. Check out our top choices before you check in!

1. North Beach Resort and Villas

Located on a 7.5-acre island between the Atlantic Ocean and Whitepoint Swash, North Beach Resort & Villas towers over a sublime beach area. If that’s not enough, the property also offers a 2.5-acre, Caribbean-themed pool complex that raises the bar on relaxation, featuring swimming pools, an outdoor pool escape with private cabanas, swim-up pool bar, and lazy river. For even more relaxation, you can schedule a massage or facial at the onsite Cinzia Spa. And, for dinner, make reservations at the property’s award-winning steakhouse, 21 Main.

2. Prince Resort at the Cherry Grove Pier

Located in North Myrtle Beach, which is known to be less crowded, the oceanfront Prince Resort is uniquely located at the privately owned Cherry Grove Pier, a landmark here on the Grand Strand since the early 1950s. Take a stroll down the long pier that makes you feel like you’re walking on water and take in the views from the two-story observation deck. Prince Resort boasts two towers laid out with stunning, modern condos overlooking the ocean or the inlet and luxury amenities that boast swimming pools, a rooftop pool, lazy river, and hot tubs. Dinner is served onsite at the 3500 Ocean Grill just steps from the sand.

3. Seaside Resort

Also in North Myrtle Beach, the oceanfront SeaSide Resort offers spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos laid out with a fully equipped kitchen and private balcony. In addition to access to a wide-open beach, the resort offers a full list of amenities to make your stay carefree and stress-free, including two pools (indoor and outdoor), a lazy river, two hot tubs, and a fitness center.

4. Beach Cove Resort

Just as its name implies, Beach Cove in North Myrtle Beach will give you access to unlimited beach time. Also featured on the property are four pools, including the tropical oceanfront pool deck that hosts three outdoor pools and a one-foot-deep kiddie pool, a kiddie pool beneath a mushroom fountain, a 350-foot-long lazy river, three oceanfront whirlpools, and indoor pool and whirlpool. Also inside and ready to entertain on rainy days is Beach Cove’s Town Center, home to the Winner’s Circle arcade, Grab N’ Go Grill & Coffee Bar, the casual Tipsy Turtle Beach Bar, and Tradewinds Café for a Southern-style breakfast buffet.

5. The Caravelle Resort

The northern end of Myrtle Beach is the place to be – especially at Caravelle’s renowned block-long poolscape that stretches from the beach access to the boulevard, site of a large heated pool, whirlpool, lazy river, more shallow kiddie lazy river, and the Wild Water Pool splash area. The resort also features a game room, the Marco Polo Pool Bar and Grill, and Pirate’s Cove Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop.

6. Carolina Winds Resort

Feel the ocean breeze at Carolina Winds, tucked along the northern section of Myrtle Beach. A wide variety of accommodations await, from one-bedroom, angled oceanfront suites to three-bedroom condos that are each uniquely decorated for a distinct design that feels comfortable. Aside from being steps from the sand, take advantage of their massive 120-foot oceanfront outdoor pool that ranges from 3 feet to 10.5 feet deep – one of the biggest pools at the beach! There’s also a large outdoor kiddie pool and one inside, plus a lazy river, an oceanfront lawn for relaxing, access to tennis courts at the elite Grande Dunes Tennis Club, and the onsite Beach Pit Restaurant and Bar or the Snack Shack.

7. Sea Watch Resort

This resort tucked onto the serene north end of the beach has a lot to offer besides a peace-and-quiet beachfront for the entire family: six pools (two that are covered and heated), two lazy rivers, breakfast and snacks at Captain’s Cove and Captain’s Nook, the Loggerhead Beach playground, a fire pit for toasting marshmallows at night, a game room, and more.
