PirateLand Family Camping Resort has welcomed generations of Myrtle Beach visitors since opening in 1966. Located along the oceanfront on the south end of the Myrtle Beach area, the longtime campground offers campsites, vacation rentals, direct beach access and plenty of ways for families to enjoy their time together.

Book a campsite near one of PirateLand’s lakes or close to the Atlantic Ocean. Campsites feature full hookups with water, sewer and 30- and 50-amp electric service, along with picnic tables and access to Wi-Fi and Spectrum streaming. Tent camping is also available. Travelers who prefer a little more space and the comforts of home can choose from furnished two- and three-bedroom vacation rentals.

There’s plenty happening throughout the year at PirateLand, with recreation activities designed to bring families together. Depending on the season, guests can find crafts, games, tournaments, holiday activities and other family-friendly events, along with outdoor chapel services and plenty of time to enjoy the beach and campground.

Amenities

There’s no shortage of ways to stay busy at PirateLand. Guests can cool off at the seasonal outdoor water park, featuring an Olympic-size swimming pool, 510-foot lazy river and splash pool. New for 2026, Splashbuckler’s Cove adds a year-round indoor water experience with a pirate ship, slides and interactive water features.

Other amenities include golf cart rentals, a new pickleball court, playground areas, basketball courts, an outdoor chapel and family recreation activities. PirateLand guests also currently have access to the seasonal mini-golf course and arcade and snack bar operated by neighboring Carolina Shores RV Resort. Many amenities are seasonal, so hours and availability may vary during your stay.

She is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but has resided in Myrtle Beach for 14 years.
