PirateLand Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach

Name: PirateLand Family Camping Resort

Location: 5401 S. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC

Year Opened: 1966

PirateLand Family Camping Resort actually started as a smaller property with just 75 campsites in the mid-1960s on a stretch of beach just south of Myrtle Beach State Park. By the 1980s they leased more acres and added a general store, large pool, playgrounds, and more, and is now home to even more great amenities.

Book your site at PirateLand near one of their many lakes or along the beautiful shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Sites are equipped with water, sewer, electric and cable hookups and picnic tables. Don’t have a camper but still want to go camping? There are many cabins and mobile homes around the campground that can sleep up to eight guests and include air conditioning, pots and pans, full-sized refrigerators and more.

There are plenty of annual events and activities planned throughout the year. Their annual July 4th Pageant, Spooktacular Celebration and Easter Egg Hunts are a huge hit year after year. Other activities include food trucks, scavenger hunts, cornhole tournaments, church services, fishing clinics, crafts, bingo and karaoke.

There’s certainly no shortage of ways to stay busy at PirateLand. They have a huge outdoor pool with 18,000 square feet of sun deck. Float along the 510-foot lazy river while your kids enjoy the Pirate-themed Splash pool! There’s also an indoor pool that’s open year-round.

Other great perks included with your stay at PirateLand include paddle boats and kayak rentals, golf cart rentals, an 18-hole mini-golf course, Captain’s Galley Arcade and Snack Bar, basketball courts, playgrounds, an on-site chapel, covered pavilion picnic area and so much more.
