How to Find an Adrenaline Adventure at The Beach

  By  Ashley Daniels
Banana Boat

Ashley's Note: My family of five loves to have some fun in the sun on the water. After all, we live at the beach, so why not take full advantage of our resources? While I prefer my adventures to be more grounded, my teen sons like to take flight or speed off – and I’ve just watched from afar over the years.

Are you ready to kick things up a notch for an adrenaline high during your getaway to Myrtle Beach? If you’re up for some adventure, the beach is packed with plenty of options, from sky-high in the air to down on the ground by either land or sea. We have you covered! Check out these ideas for an adrenaline-filled adventure day in the Myrtle Beach area.

Adventure on Water

The Myrtle Beach area’s 60 miles of coastline offers endless opportunities for adventures on the ocean. And slightly to the west, there is the Intracoastal Waterway, another water adventure playground that awaits.

If you feel the need for speed, rent a jet ski from Jet Ski Express or a speed boat to skim across the ocean or the river at speeds of up to 45 mph. Or you can grab a group of friends (usually up to six) and head to Banana Boat Express to hang on tight for a banana boat that bounces, twists, and turns on the water at speeds of up to 35 mph.

More water adventures include catching a wave during a surf lesson, catching some air on the water course at the Shark Wake Park, or getting a water workout on a stand-up paddleboard.

Broadway Grand Prix

Adventure on Land

Take the family to Family Kingdom Amusement Park for an adrenaline-filled day in Myrtle Beach. This legendary park is packed with 35 thrilling rides, such as the Slingshot or the landmark Swamp Fox wooden rollercoaster, and they are always adding more to keep you on your toes.

Speed demons will love Broadway Grand Prix, which offers 19 thrilling attractions, such as the seven go-kart tracks, the max flight simulator, and more.

For a cool way to experience adrenaline-pumping adventure, visit Myrtle Waves Water Park, a destination with rides and speedy slides – some that tower high above ground and have you spiraling down at an exhilarating 50 feet per second.

And if you’d rather take in some action and adventure rather than experience it yourself, reserve a front row seat at Pirate’s Voyage or Medieval Times, where you will witness heart-pounding performances – from high divers and aerialists to sword-yielding knights jousting – that will make your jaws drop.

Adventure in the air

Take flight on SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, which rises high above the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk at 200 feet for breathtaking views of the skyline and the coastline.

If you’d rather soar 200 feet above the ocean, book a parasailing adventure at Parasail Express in Murrells Inlet or any of the many watersport businesses along the coast.

Feel like getting shot up into the air at more than 300 feet high at a speed up to 100 miles an hour? Then strap yourself and a daring friend into the Slingshot ride on Ocean Blvd.

And if you want to zoom on a zipline or rope climbing challenges, try Soar + Explore 50 feet high above the lake at Broadway at the Beach and extends 1,000 feet long from tower to tower.

Don't miss all the wild fun in Myrtle Beach, it's sure to get your heart pumping! Be sure to book your accommodation to rest up for your fun-filled adventure at The Beach.
