Happy Canada Day From Your Friends in Myrtle Beach!

Myrtle Beach and Canada have a long-standing partnership, beginning back in spring 1960 with the first Canadian-American Days. The Canadian-American Days were introduced by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce to attract Canadian families to the beach during their spring school break with exciting events, deals and concerts. Over the years, the name of the week has changed to just “Can-Am” Days.

Can-Am Days are typically held in early March each year. Take a look at the video to see what you can expect during your trip to The Beach!

The Beach is filled with attractions and shows, shopping, live music, waterfront dining – and of course, wide sandy beaches with a year-around temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit). The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) offers a direct flight from Toronto to Myrtle Beach through Porter Airlines. This service is currently paused due to the pandemic; however, Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Airlines offer non-stop destinations from Detroit, Albany, Newburgh/Stewart, and Syracuse. Myrtle Beach is also a drivable destination from many Canadian locations. Find more information on our website about travel to The Beach.

We know you deserve time to relax and recharge at a resort, vacation rental or condo with amazing views and amenities. Many accommodations will offer deals to our Canadian friends so continue checking our website for those throughout the summer and fall. Throughout the 14 communities of the Grand Strand, there are plenty of options that fit your needs – from kid-approved pools and waterparks to relaxing beach-front balconies.

Also, check out our events calendar as you plan your trip to The Beach! Several communities along the Grand Strand host festivals, such as the Loris Bog-Off, Little River Shrimpfest, and many holiday events, that you won't want to miss. The Myrtle Beach area is always buzzing with the sounds to children laughing, waves crashing against the shore, and live music playing.

What are you waiting for? The Beach is ready for you!
