So many courses, so little time!

If you read my blogs, you’ve noticed that I’m passionate about golf and I personally think that all golf courses are beautiful and have something spectacular to offer for all the senses. I love the serene environment, the smell, the trees, the water, and sand all together that makes for a perfect ambiance to spend a few hours playing my favorite sport. One of the enduring pleasures of playing golf is the opportunity to spend time in nature. The most treasured golf courses tend to be the ones whose layouts provide a high-quality test and those situated on what seems to be a magical tract of land.

The Myrtle Beach area is full of superb golf courses, there is no shortage of choices. When we visit Myrtle Beach, the Golf Capital of the World for a golf trip, many of us choose golf courses by the price, difficulty, course rating, ground conditions, but also by the beauty of the landscape. On this blog I will concentrate on the beautiful views that you can experience on a golf course in Myrtle Beach. With 90 championship golf courses, there are several layouts that stand out from the rest due to some quality and very distinct scenery that often comes in different forms. Here are five golf courses, where the views are fantastic in Myrtle Beach.

I’m sure there are others, and that you have your own special places and different opinions, but here are my favorites places that I have played and enjoyed over the 30 years that I’ve been visiting Myrtle Beach.

The Dunes Golf and Beach Club

Home of the first PGA Tour event on the Grand Strand, The Myrtle Beach Classic that will be held May 9-12, 2024. This legendary and only ocean front property in Myrtle Beach has 75 years of rich history and is always preserving and enhancing the spectacular natural beauty of the land.  You can feel the breeze and enjoy the oceanside views from a few holes and especially from the clubhouse.  I will attend the tournament as a spectator for the four days, come and say hello if you see me in the crowd!

Grand Dunes Golf Club

Grand Dunes has been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and looks better than ever following the conclusion of a renovation project that included new greens and an overhaul of every bunker on the course. Home to five holes that play along the Intracoastal Waterway, highlighted by the unforgettable par 3, 14th, Grand Dunes showcases some of the best breathtaking views along the Myrtle Beach golf scene.

Tidewater Golf Club

Nestled between the Intracoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove Inlet, Tidewater Golf Club delivers unmatched natural beauty, challenging play and a layout that has been ranked among the nation’s top 100 public courses. As you make your way through each meticulously crafted hole, prepare to be captivated by the stunning views of the Intracoastal Waterway, saltwater marshes, and towering Carolina pines. Tidewater’s remarkable landscape leaves golfers raving long after they’ve return home.

Caledonia Golf and Fish Club

The first thing that tells you are in a special environment is when you enter the Caledonia golf course. Majestic live oak trees that overhang the entryway into Caledonia similarly frames many of the shots at Caledonia, giving the course a rustic feel. Thousands of annual and semi-annual flowers bloom every year throughout the property, further adding to the beauty of the experience. A round of golf at Caledonia has been described as a beautiful day spent in a botanical garden.

Barefoot - Love Golf Course

Discover the essence of Lowcountry charm at this challenging championship-level golf course designed by Carolina native, Davis Love III. The Love course at Barefoot Golf incorporates the recreated ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3rd-7th adding historical allure to your golf experience. Meticulously maintained golf course, wonderful landscape and top-notch facilities is what Love Golf Course offers you. Savor a truly unforgettable adventure on this picturesque course.

After your round in one of those magnificent courses, why not spent some time at the clubhouse and appreciate a well deserve break, enjoy a meal and your favorite drink with your golf partners on the balcony that offers spectacular views of the ocean, marshes, waterway, or the 18th hole. Savor the gorgeous sunset while you and your friends talk about your next golf adventure coming up the next day….in Myrtle Beach, Golf Capital of the World!
