Join us for the 1st annual "Myrtle Mile" race around Grand Lake at Market Common! This charity fundraiser takes place around the beautiful Grand Lake on Saturday October 4th, 2025. Register for the competitive heat if you want to see how fast you can run a mile! (competitive heat is chip timed) Register for the fun run/walk if you'd like to walk or jog for a great cause! All proceeds will directly benefit the community through the new nonprofit, Ryzon Refuge. RACE INFORMATION: Packet pick-up is Saturday October 4th starting at 8am at Shelter A. Race start/finish at Forbus Ct Shelter A. 9:00am competitive heat. 9:30am fun run/walk. All registered participants will receive a t-shirt (if registered by 9/18) & post-race refreshments. Awards ceremony for competitive heat. Stroller friendly for the fun run/walk! Kids 3 and under FREE! Ryzon Refuge is a new faith-based nonprofit serving Horry County. At Ryzon Refuge, we work collectively with the community to support the needs of mothers and their children experiencing homelessness in our community. We are currently in Phase 1, which is to build 7 tiny homes made of refurbished modern shipping containers, along with a small community center to be used for education, fellowship, and more.
