July 4 F1rst Friday ArtWalk and Independence Day Celebrations Photo

From 5-8 PM, ArtWalk attendees are invited to stroll downtown and experience art in unexpected places, as shops, art galleries, and restaurants open their doors to display original artwork and host meet-and-greets with featured artists. From photography and sculpture to painting and handmade crafts to music and more, the ArtWalk offers a unique cultural experience just steps from the beach. Participating businesses include favorites along Broadway Street, 8th Avenue North, Main Street, Nance Plaza, 9th Avenue North, and outdoor venues throughout the Arts & Innovation District. See below for an ArtWalk map.

As the sun begins to set, the celebration heats up in nearby Plyler Park, where the Hot Summer Nights series kicks off at 6 PM. Reggae fusion band Righteous Roots takes the stage from 6-8 PM, followed by the high-energy Carolina Rhythm Tap Ensemble, delivering a percussive patriotic performance that will thrill audiences of all ages.

Capping off the evening, fireworks will light up the sky at 9 PM in a patriotic finale visible from anywhere along the 1.2-mile Oceanfront Boardwalk — offering the perfect coastal view for families and friends to gather and celebrate America’s birthday.

The F1rst Friday ArtWalk and Hot Summer Nights festivities are free, family-friendly and open to the public.
