
HAZE GRAY is a boutique family-owned vineyard/winery in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Dobson. It is owned by Deane and Becky Muhlenberg. Deane is an 8th generation US military. His family has served in the US military since the US Revolution. Becky grew up in an Army family and their son currently serves in the U.S. Air Force. Haze Gray is named for the color of U.S. naval ships. The tasting room is even painted haze gray! The vineyard is a certified ‘Homegrown by Heroes’ farm signifying agricultural products produced by U.S. military veterans. Haze Gray gives generous discounts to military & former military. Becky is also the President of the NC winegrowers association. The winery grows nine different grapes on 85 acres. Haze Gray wines are all estate bottled—all grapes are grown on the property, wines are made and bottled on property. Wines are primarily French style, except for the Pinot Grigio, which is Italian style. They are known for their Bordeaux style red blends.
