
The Georgetown County Library proudly announces its inaugural Juneteenth Festival, which will take place throughout this month. This vibrant community celebration honors Black heritage, history and culture with a full slate of educational, artistic and inspirational events for all ages.
The Juneteenth Festival will feature a variety of engaging experiences including art exhibits, storytelling, crafts, workshops, performances and a Black Business Expo. Residents and visitors are invited to join in honoring the significance of Juneteenth through learning, creativity and connection.
Festival Dates & Highlights:June 7 (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.): Paying Homage
Celebrate with an art exhibit by Natalie Daise, history exhibits, a Writer’s Circle, arts & crafts, and more.June 14 (11a.m. – 6 p.m.): Business Expo
Explore local Black-owned businesses, attend empowering workshops and enjoy live talent and vendors.June 16 (2 p.m. – 6 p.m.): Artist Alley – Part One
Enjoy hands-on experiences with Sweetgrass crafts by Jennifaye Singleton and Gullah doll making sponsored by Zenobia Harper.June 17 (3 p.m.): Artist Alley – Part Two
Join Ron Daise for Gullah storytelling, with Gullahlicious pound cakes and books available for purchase.
In addition to these signature events, the festival will also showcase:
Writer’s Circle, Handmade Dolls, Sweetgrass, Line Dancing, Gullah Storytelling, Artist Alley, and more.
All events will take place at the Georgetown County Library, located at 405 Cleland Street.
