Best Golf Courses for Early-Birds and Happy Hours in Myrtle Beach

  By  Normand Nadon

You are on vacation in Myrtle Beach with family and friends. You are a golfer, but you want to spend time with your family and enjoy all that Myrtle Beach has to offer. Hundreds of activities, fun attractions, try the taste of Southern Cuisine in one of the multiple restaurants, appreciate world class shopping, and of course, spend some relaxing time at The Beach!

But Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world, and you still want to squeeze in a few rounds in one of the 90 golf courses in the region. Maybe a quick round early in the morning or play 9 holes later in the afternoon before the sunset? We got you covered.

A lot of golf courses offers specials on early AM tee times, late PM tee times and activities such as wine tasting, brunches, lunches, and beverages included with your golf round.

Here is a list of my favorite early birds and happy hour golf courses in the Grand Strand.

Early-Bird Golf Specials

The sun rises, the mowers have done their work in the dew, you can smell the fresh cut grass (golfer’s favorite smell…) and you feel like playing a round of golf? Grab your golf bag, a coffee and a muffin and head to the course that offers good specials for early birds’ golfers.

Legends Resort

The Legends Golf Course and Resort offers fantastic savings, based on booking three rounds before 8 AM or after 12 PM. You can choose your rounds from any of the five award-winning Legends courses. The Heathland, Moorland, Parkland, Heritage Club or Oyster Bay.

Litchfield Golf and Country Club

The beautiful Litchfield golf course offers early AM specials. Litchfield is a classic low country golf course located in Pawleys Island. Classic design, outstanding conditions, and customer service that makes everyone fee like a member for a day.

World Tour Golf Links

From the moment you proceed along the magnolia-lined driveway of the International World Tour Golf Links approaching the immaculate white clubhouse, you know that you are in for a different kind of golf experience. The World Tour recreates 18 of the most elite, renowned, and challenging golf layouts from 15 courses like St-Andrews, the Augusta National, TPC Sawgrass and more. The Player’s Grill offers a new breakfast and lunch menu that will satisfy you.

Other beautiful and challenging golf clubs that I like that offers advantageous early AM rates are The Long Bay Golf Club and Myrtlewood Golf Club.

Happy Hour Golf Specials

You have spent the day on The Beach, visit Brookgreens Gardens, took a bike ride, hiked at one of the National Parks, went fishing or enjoyed a water sport? But you have missed your golf clubs, it’s almost happy hour time and you feel like heading to the golf course.

TPC Myrtle Beach

Located in Murrels Inlet, TPC Myrtle Beach is one of the most challenging golf courses in the region and is the home course of 2020 Master’s Champion Dustin Johnson. The Champions Pub at TPC offers a special Wine Wednesday. White, Red and Rosé are in the wine trail adventures, plus the Chef’s Specials awaits you. Great golf, great food, and great wine!

Barefoot Resort and Golf

Home of the most decorated multi-course golf resort in Myrtle Beach, Barefoot Golf Resort was designed by hall of fame and architects Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Tom Fazio, and Pete Dye. Late afternoon special golf rates are available. After your round enjoy your favorite drinks and food at the popular Putter’s Club.

Grande Dunes Golf Club

Grande Dunes has been ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses. Grande Dunes showcases some of the most breathtaking views along the Myrtle Beach golf scene. It is also the home to a new restaurant, the Terrazza 19 Tapas Room which serves shareable plates and craft cocktails in the course’s newly expanded clubhouse. Indoor and outdoor dining offers beautiful views of the Intercoastal Waterway and a relaxing atmosphere.

Other notable golf clubs that offer good specials for late PM tee times that I love to visit are Aberdeen Country Club, Myrtle National King’s North, River Hills Golf Club, and Myrtlewood Golf Course.

Topgolf is one of the most popular places to enjoy the game, hitting balls, spend happy hour with friends, music, drinks, and good food.
