  By  Ashley Daniels

Smoke on the Beach BBQ

The annual Smoke on the Beach BBQ is back! And there is nothing like the smell of smoky BBQ and salty air at The Beach! This event is a judged competition sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Shrine Club located at the Historic Myrtle Beach Pavilion Park on 8th Avenue N. and Ocean Boulevard.

The first competition, the Anything Butt Competition, will begin on Friday, April 2nd at 5 p.m. with samples sold to the public. The winners who are chosen by the public will be announced on Saturday. Vendors and food trucks will be onsite along with the live band, Southern Kind, for a night of family-fun.

Then, on Saturday, April 3rd the main event – the BBQ Competition – begins at 9 a.m.! There are 14 BBQ Teams registered to compete, along with several craft, food, and retail vendors. The competitions include 1st place in BBQ, Best Rib, People’s Choice in Anything Butt, Best Cooking Tent, and the Grand Champion. The BBQ sandwiches from each team will be sold to the public during and after the judging. The judges, sanctioned by the Southern BBQ Network, will begin determining the winners at 10 am. There will also be music played by local DJ James Moore.

Bring your friends and family to enjoy delicious, southern BBQ, and find out which team makes the best BBQ at The Beach!

Proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Myrtle Beach Shrine Club, who help the community through brotherly love, relief, and truth and provide charitable support of the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
