Brookgreen Gardens' Magical Summer Lights Festival

  By  Visit Myrtle Beach

Brookgreen Gardens' Summer Lights Festival Underway

Beginning Wednesday June 5, and continuing through Saturday, August 24, 2024, Brookgreen Gardens will be lighting up the night with their beloved Summer Lights Festival. Considering how magical Brookgreen Gardens is around the holidays with Night of a Thousand Candles, this event brings that same magic to summertime.

What to expect: The Summer Lights Festival exhibit will be held in the Lowcountry Zoo section of Brookgreen Gardens. The exhibit was created by Chinese craftsmen in the tradition of famous Chinese Lantern Festivals, and will feature larger-than-life illuminated silk lantern sculptures in a variety of native animals, insects and plants. The festival will also offer a variety of activities, live music, various art installations, local food trucks and more.

Schedule: The Summer Lights Festival will run all summer long from Wednesdays and Saturdays in the evenings. Brookgreen Gardens will close at 5 p.m. and gates will re-open at 6:00 p.m. for festival attendees. Festival hours are from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission Details: Tickets are $30 for adults and $17 for children ages 4 to 12. Children 3 and under are free. Brookgreen Gardens members receive a $5.00 discount on the ticket price. We recommend getting tickets ahead of time, there's nothing worse than showing up and learning it's sold out! Knowing the amazing events Brookgreen Gardens hosts throughout the year, this is one not to be missed. Especially as getting the chance to be in the park after hours is a one-of-a-kind, memorable experience. To purchase your tickets, visit the Brookgreen Gardens event page.
