Along the far-reaching stretch of Grand Strand coastline, Myrtle Beach State Park sits nestled among oceanfront maritime forest. A quiet, and surprisingly green, escape from the otherwise bustling beach, the park provides educational opportunities, a nature trail and some of the best surf fishing South Carolina.
Test your luck from the fishing pier as we try to catch a variety of crabs, fish and many other critters. This is a catch and release program in order to help conserve our resources for the future. A limited amount of crab traps are provided for a $5 rental per trap. Pay for traps inside the fishing pier retail store. Traps are available on a first come, first served basis- we start handing out traps 10 minutes before the program begins. Bring your own raw chicken or fish for bait or buy bait inside the fishing pier. Ages 5 to 105.
