This year's Winter Wonderland Lights Display features more than 100,000 lights on the beach and the boardwalk.  Stretching nearly 1 mile through the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach, this walking tour is a one-of-a-kind experience you have to see to believe. 1. Oceanfront Lights Display

Back and better than ever, the oceanfront lights display is coming to the beach in the evenings to provide free holiday spirit for everyone to enjoy. Stare in awe at shimmering lights, twinkling trees, and themes of the ocean and holiday fun as you walk down the boardwalk and around the downtown area. Catch the lights all season long from 5 to 9 p.m.

2. Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Winter Wonderland Family Fun Festival will kick off Saturday, November 29, with a tree lighting ceremony in Plyler Park. Everything will be lit up, and there will be loads of family fun from live music, activities, and SNOW for the kids to run through and play. Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m., and the event will run until 7 p.m.

3. Twinkling Two Miler Run

Calling runners from all around! What better holiday tradition to start than a family-friendly night run that takes you on a course through Myrtle Beach's holiday lights and decor? For everyone, participate in this two-mile run on Tuesday, December 9, dressed in your best holiday costume to add more ambiance. Each participant will also be given a glow item so everyone can partake in the fun. It's going to be a great way to see the city while also spending time with family and friends.

4. F1rst Friday Art Walks

Explore The Beach's Arts and Innovation District holiday edition with the F1rst Friday Art Walks. See unique, handcrafted gifts from local vendors and restaurants across the city who have prepared special crafts for the holiday season. Visit Kaleidoscope Artisan Collective, Gallery 320, and Vision Arts Gallery of Myrtle Beach and William H. Miller Studios & Fine Art, or sample food from various local businesses. Afterward, grab a brewski from Grand Strand Brewing Company, which will also be present to showcase their winter drink selection. Mark your calendars for one of the two days, either Friday, December 5, 2025, or Friday, January 2, 2026, to make sure you don't miss out!

5. "Light Up The Night" Bike Ride

Stroll through The Beach's holiday displays with style - on a bike! On Thursday, December 11, bring your bike to Grand Strand Brewing Company decked out in the best holiday decor. From lights to big bows, or glitter galore, you and other bike enthusiasts will roll through downtown Myrtle to see everything the city offers during the holiday season. You will make brief stops at Second Avenue Pier, Plyler Park, and Boardwalk Bikes along the way, before ending back where you started at the brewery with some holiday trivia. No registration is necessary to join!

Shelbi Ankiewicz is a senior at Coastal Carolina University studying communication, journalism, and intercultural studies. She is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but has resided in Myrtle Beach for 14 years. She is the Editor-in-Chief of CCU's student newspaper, The Chanticleer, and is a member of a two-year leadership program called the Wall Fellows. Shelbi enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling to major cities in the SouthEast, and attending concerts. In her free time you can find her hanging out with her frenchton bulldog, Oma, or visiting the local trails Myrtle Beach has to offer.
