Myrtle Beach International Airport Airline Partners
The Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is a full-service facility that serves as a gateway to the Grand Strand. Approximately 1.1 million passengers deplane in MYR each year.
To keep up with the growing number of visitors traveling to Myrtle Beach each year, MYR has undergone notable expansions and facility improvements. At the end of 2015, MYR completed a $5 million interior renovation of its original terminal. Triggered by growth in passenger traffic, this renovation added new amenities, circulation space and improved restroom and concession areas. It also divided one of the concourses into three zones, allowing for a more flexible and cost-efficient operation to compliment seasonal passenger demand.
Air service at MYR has also experienced tremendous growth over the past several years, including multiple additions of non-stop routes to cities including Indianapolis, Hartford, Toronto and Cleveland. The airport aims to continue this growth, particularly through a new project that aims to increase the number of gates from seven to 12, and the amount of square footage from 155,000 to a combined total of 374,000.
MYR is also one of the only airports in the country to open an autism-friendly “Quiet Room” to help families with autistic children decompress after a flight.
