Join us on November 7th at 1 PM as Abigail Geedy discusses the ways that people, places and objects influenced one another in South Carolina. Multi-mound Mississippian Era Native American sites have been documented in central South Carolina. A portion of the people who lived there were likely ancestrally related to the peoples of the Catawba Indian Nation, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and Creek (Muscogee) Nation. Using documented oral traditions and the collaboration of current members of these three Nations, we can interpret the meaning behind the natural and built landscapes.
