From April 28th to May 26th, Richard Sexton will be rucking 750 miles--a marathon a day, carrying “Slappy,” a 25-pound slamball across NC and down the coast to complete his feat in Surfside Beach SC, the birthplace of the autism friendly travel initiative.
“Slappy” represents the load that those with autism and their loved ones carry with them every day. Richard, his feat and the people involved represent the journey and support our people and families need to succeed--from the rigors of 4-6 hours of training daily, the logistics of how to carry Slappy, the painstaking planning of the route, lodging and support vehicle logistics and all the other myriad details--all represents what our people, caregivers and support providers do every day.
Please support Richard, Slappy and the hundreds of families of the Champion Autism Network and Sponsor Today. For route information, to donate, or be a sponsor, please visit www.carolinascanruckforautism.com.
