Looking for a way to have a nice little Saturday? Might we suggest the 2014 Conway Riverfest.

This annual celebration returns to downtown Conway on June 28, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The day begins with booth displays at the Artisans Market and Santee Cooper Business Expo on Marina Drive. Make sure and come hungry, because a number of food vendors will be offering tasty morsels for sampling.

Once those bellies are full, check out the Anderson Brothers Bank Patriotic Golf Cart Parade along Laurel Avenue from Second Avenue to Marina Drive and Riverfront Park. It starts at 11:15 a.m.

For the kids, the Nye’s Pharmacy Kids Zone is the popular place to be, especially because of its beloved Jello Jump.

For the adults, there is a beer garden, more fantastic food to try, musical entertainment from the Dustin Martin Band, Tastes Like Chicken, the Eagles tribute band On the Border and Tuesday’s Gone, a tribute to Lynard Skynard.

As if all this awesomeness wasn’t enough, there’s the Patriotic Boat Parade at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Tickets to Riverfront Park is $5 per person, while children 12 and under are admitted for free.

Obviously, the place to be on Saturday is the Conway Riverfest. So, bring the family, a lawn chair and some patriotic spirit. Because your Fourth of July holiday is getting started a little early!

See you along the Waccamaw!
