When we heard Broadway Grand Prix opened their doors a little early this year, we were so excited! As the mom of two boys who love anything with wheels, it’s one of our favorite spots. Centrally located in Myrtle Beach just across from Broadway at the Beach, Broadway Grand Prix is the perfect spot to spend a sunny spring afternoon.
This awesome racing attraction is home to seven Go-Kart tracks, a rock wall, an 18-hole mini golf course, the Sky Coaster, the Grand Prix arcade and a large snack bar. My four-year-old and I spent a LOT of time on the Family Track riding together, but he also got a chance to check out the Kids Track for the first time as a solo driver, too. (Over 40” is generally the height requirement for many of the tracks as a rider on the Kids Track as a driver).
While we didn’t spend a lot of time on the Grand Prix Pro Track this trip, it is usually one of my favorites. We noticed some newly-installed television monitors at this track and asked about them. Turns out Broadway Grand Prix is actually getting all new Go-Karts for their Pro Track soon! The karts will include a timing mechanism so drivers will be able to know their exact time and see everyone’s scores on the screen after the ride.
Beyond the race tracks, there are several other kids rides for those who might not be tall enough to ride or drive yet. In fact, my oldest son asked to go on pretty much every single one in between race track rides (good thing we had all-you-can-ride wristbands!). While you can purchase tickets and turn them in at each ride, it’s by far easier and more economical to spring for the wristbands. Wristband prices start at $12.95 for toddlers and go up in price for different height brackets. One thing to note, there is a slight discount for purchasing ‘Rookie’ and ‘Pro and Intermediate’ wristbands in advance online so if you think you might go this route, definitely check out Broadway Grand Prix’s website before you go. Wristbands also include unlimited mini-golf!
A couple last things to note: It’s easy to work up an appetite exploring the park, and we absolutely recommend trying their funnel cake before you leave. It’s one of our favorites along the Grand Strand! And for our thrill-seeking visitors, the Broadway Grand Prix is also home to a Sky Coaster, a super high, swing-type bungee ride that scared me to death when I did it. (Video below). The Sky Coaster isn’t included in a wristband purchase but is worth every bit of the cost if roller coasters and thrill rides are your thing.
