Sensory-Friendly Events in April in Myrtle Beach

The Grand Strand welcomes autism families with open arms! Autism mom and founder of Champion Autism Network, Becky Large, saw a need and continues to meet it by providing fun and entertainment to visiting and local autism families. Through her efforts, Champion Autism Network collaborates with numerous businesses to offer autism-friendly events and discounts. Invest in an Autism Travel Club card to participate in these events. April 2024 is packed with opportunities!

Sensory Friendly Birthday Bowling Bash

It's our BIRTHDAY BOWLING BASH!! Enjoy sensory friendly family bowling. Music down, lights up and room to move around. $1.00 per game per person and $1.00 for shoes. Food specials for us: choice of Hot dog, Chicken Nuggets or Grilled Cheese with chips and 12oz Soda for $3.

THEN at 11:45, we'll sing Happy Birthday (if all can tolerate it) and have cupcakes compliments of Kroger's Carolina forest Our families can rest assured their special birthday kids will be celebrating among friends!!

Parents/Caregivers are to attend and remain at event for the duration.

Autism Ready Ripley's Aquarium is ready for you and your family!

House lights up, music and sound effects down. Noise canceling headphones available at guest services.

Rebecca Jeffreys is an autism mom, dog lover and former classical musician. She is the author of “You Were Made for This- Finding Courage and Intuition for Raising a Child with Autism.” In addition to writing, Rebecca is on the staff of Champion Autism Network which raises autism awareness and support around the nation. Rebecca has lived in Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, New York and Massachusetts, but the south won her heart and so she settled in Myrtle Beach in 2021. She and her family enjoy the beach life and visit local restaurants on a regular basis.
