Broadway at the Beach has taken their Christmas decor to a new (and sparkly!) level this year. In addition to some beautiful fixtures, ornaments, lights, and photo-ops throughout the 350-acre complex, they’ve added a 46-foot lit Sequoia tree to Center Court--between Build-A-Bear Workshop, The Mole Hole, It'Sugar and Tsunami Surf Shop--this year.
The tree features 580 branches and glows with 14,500 RGB LED lights. A synchronized music and light show, lasting over six minutes can be seen every 30 minutes between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., with the last show beginning at 9 p.m. When the music is not playing, the tree cycles through a variety of color changing effects.
Needless to say, the giant tree was a huge hit with both my one- and four-year-old earlier this week. And one of the best parts about this dazzling light display is that it’s free to visit and enjoy! We stuck around to see the six-minute show twice and walked around Broadway visiting a couple stores and taking pictures at a few of the holiday displays in between.
Perhaps the best part about this tree is the fact that it’s located at Broadway at the Beach, one of Myrtle Beach’s most popular shopping, dining, and entertainment complexes (and a recipient of the South Carolina Governor’s Cup for Tourism and Travel). So in one stop, you can enjoy a meal, do some holiday shopping and catch this spectacular light and music show. If you’re in the area and have the opportunity, we definitely recommend checking it out.
