Regardless of the success of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans ball players on the field, 2018 already looks like a win for anyone looking to entertain their family this baseball season. The Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs released their promotional schedule for the year recently, and I really like what I’m seeing.

Themes including Myrtle Beach Mermen Night, NASA Night, Women in Sports Night, Christmas Vacation Night, Old School Hip Hop Night, Cubs-A-Palooza, Star Wars Night and (what is sure to be our family’s favorite) Touch-A-Truck Night are all on the lineup.

They’ve also changed up some of their regular weekly promotions, as well. But have no fear, Thirsty Thursday remains the same. Here’s a look at what you can expect on any given day:

Sunday-Ultimate Kids Sunday! Includes a special kid-friendly theme each week, free inflatables, pregame on-field catch, face painting, balloon artists, giveaways and more. Courtesy of Anderson Brothers Bank.

Monday-Half Off For Hunger, where fans can save half off of their ticket price when they donate items from the approved Backpack Buddies list. Courtesy of Lowes Foods.

Tuesday-$2 Tacos and Tallboys, presented by Abuelos Mexican Restaurant.

Wednesday-Wiener Wednesday and Bark at the Park. Hebrew National Hotdogs are buy one get one free. Also dogs are admitted free on Wednesdays with the purchase of a Budweiser Thirst Inning Deck ticket.

Thursday-Thirsty Thursday, features $1 Bud and Bud Light Drafts, $2 16oz. cans and 1/2 price Duplin Wine from 6 to 8 p.m.

Friday-Beer, Brats and Baseball and First Responder Night. $2 craft drafts from 6 to 8 p.m. Buy one get one free sausages presented by Lowes Foods. Also, first responders receive 1/2 off their tickets with ID courtesy of 707 Shooting Range and Goldfinch Winslow Law Firm.

Saturday-Locals Appreciation Night and Post-Game Fireworks. Locals who show ID save $3 off tickets.

With such a fun promotional lineup this year, I see a lot of games in our future this season. I imagine I’m not the only one thinking that, because the April 5 opening game was packed with happy fans. For more information on the Pelicans ongoing promotions or to purchase tickets, visit
