Myrtle Beach Marathon: What You Need to Know

  By  Katie Hunter

Are you ready to run?

Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, the Myrtle Beach Marathon is back! The perfect marathon for beautiful views of the beach, temperate weather, and sunshine - right in the heart of Myrtle Beach! This year distances include the Myrtle Beach Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k and Family Fun Run as well as the Virtual 10k for those wanting to participate from home. The course this year is slightly different from previous years, but it is still fast and flat with several miles of oceanfront views, running in the heart of Myrtle Beach. You might even be able to feel the salty breeze as you run - how refreshing! View the course in this interactive map

Although there will not be a Health and Welness Expo for 2024, there will be a Finish Line Festival complete with all your favorites: live music, pizza, donuts, beer, and chocolate milk - oh, and water too! After finishing the in-person races, each participant will receive a medal, t-shirt and "finisher" tank, so you can boast in your accomplishment all year long.

Myrtle Beach - or The Beach - offers a wide variety of fun for all ages! From thrilling attractions to excellent restaurants, you can enjoy all The Beach has to offer while you are in town for the race.

Here are a few tips:

Find the Perfect Stay

You have to rest up for the big race - and there are so many options to choose from. Whether you are looking for a peaceful beach house or a oceanfront hotel suite, find your perfect stay on our website.

Fuel Up

The Myrtle Beach area is home to over 2,000 restaurants ranging from unique international cuisine to classic American style. There's Italian restaurants if you are looking to load up on the carbs, or fresh seafood for a traditional Myrtle Beach meal by the ocean - and much more. You won't go hungry when you're visiting The Beach!

Go Explore

From live shows and attractions to shopping and spas, there's something for everyone to enjoy. While you are in town for the race, explore all the Myrtle Beach has to offer like dinner and a show at Pirates Voyage, play a round of mini-golf at Captain Hook's, or shop 'til you drop at Barefoot Landing

The Beach!

Of course, you need to visit The Beach! With 6 different beaches along the 60 miles of coastline, you can find your favorite spot in the sand and listen to the waves roll in. While March may be a little too early for swimming in the ocean, the sunshine and salty air are proven to be good for the soul.
