How about this weather?

Obviously, for those of us here in the Myrtle Beach area, the exploits of Old Man Winter have been the primary topic of conversation that past few days.

Thankfully, weather conditions are set to improve over the next few days as we head into this weekend's Myrtle Beach Marathon. And we couldn't be more excited about getting the chance to think about something other than this crazy ice, snow and rain.

With all of the weather-related delays and cancellations, marathon organizers have made some slight changes to accommodate those runners whose trip to the Myrtle Beach area might be impacted because of this recent winter storm.

First, everyone should know that the marathon, half marathon and all related events are on schedule to start at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The weather appears to be cooperating, as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 40s on Saturday and the sun should be shining bright.

For those who are having travel issues and might not be able to make it to the marathon expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center by 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 to pick up their race packet, you will be able to acquire your bibs at the starting line between 5 and 6 a.m. on Saturday. The rest of the race packet can be picked up afterwards at the finish line.

So, be safe while traveling to the Myrtle Beach area and we'll see you all at the starting line.
