The 13th Annual Mayfest on Main Festival will be held this Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. This much-loved event takes place each year on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, and draws around 15,000 people out to celebrate the beginning of summer. Along Main Street, around 100 vendors will display crafts and serve food, while a dedicated kid’s area can help keep children entertained.
The main draw for us each year, however, is the live music. The city of North Myrtle Beach has an awesome stage located where Main Street runs into the beach, and live music and performances will take place here from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This year, the headlining performer is Taylor Dayne. Other musical groups include Fire House and The Entertainers.
This year’s Mayfest is sure to be a huge party, especially as the city of North Myrtle Beach is also celebrating its 50th Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with MayFest on Main. If you plan on going, allow a little extra time for parking (it’s free, by the way) and be sure to bring your own beach chair for the concert. Also worth mentioning, there will be another smaller stage for community performances near the children’s area. This is completely separate from the main state where the headlining acts will perform.
Lastly, beyond the vendors and festival activities, all of the stores and restaurants along Main Street will also be open. It’s worth checking out some of those stores for a unique souvenir or gift for Mom, because Mother’s Day is just one day after Mayfest!
