As Valentine’s Day approaches, we are feeling the love here in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's time for a romantic weekend, enjoy a date night out without children, and including a fantastic meal at one of the area's great restaurants, like Hook and Barrel.  Here are some of our suggestions on how to create the perfect romantic day in Myrtle Beach:

Find the perfect place to stay

A weekend getaway to the Myrtle Beach area can be filled with live entertainment, fantastic restaurants, soft sandy beaches, and plenty of romance. Surprise your loved one with an overnight trip at one of our private beach homes, condos, or full-service resorts. From jacuzzi tubs to sweeping oceanfront views of the Atlantic to award-winning room service menus, we a variety of accommodations to meet every couple's need.

Start at sunrise

Start your day early with coffee at sunrise on the beach. Enjoy the glory of the sun as it meets the day with the one you love most. Spend some time looking for shells to take home to remember the morning, and then head to breakfast at one of the many quaint, traditional, southern-style diners along the Grand Strand. If you’ve planned ahead, maybe your accommodations include an oceanfront outdoor hot tub where you could spend some time relaxing after breakfast. Or a bike ride or walk along the 1.2-mile oceanfront boardwalk is fun as the beach comes alive.

Casual lunch with a view

Head to lunch at the Gulfstream Café on the Inlet, the River City Cafe in Surfside, or Lulu’s at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. A casual lunch with a view at any of our several waterfront establishments is a great way to enjoy time with your partner. After lunch, spend some time searching for a perfect souvenir, or perhaps see a movie at the Grand 14 Cinemas at the Market Common. If you’re up for something more active, take a short hike at one of the area’s state parks or try your luck at pier fishing. Make time for an afternoon coffee and nap, though, because you have dinner plans.

Dress up for dinner

Be sure to make reservations in advance at one of our fine dining establishments. The Brentwood Restaurant in Little River, Aspen Grille or the Library in Myrtle Beach, Sea Blue in North Myrtle Beach, and Costa in Murrells Inlet are all great options. Several Myrtle Beach area restaurants are designed for setting a romantic stage, and the meal is sure to be memorable.

A night out on the town

After dinner, head over to the SkyWheel and ride a gondola 200 feet up in the air for a million-LED light show and a view of the Atlantic coastline. Up for more excitement? Enjoy a live music performance at the House of Blues or spend the night dancing along The Avenue at popular Broadway at the Beach. After, head back to your hotel or beach rental and plan on sleeping in and having breakfast in bed. After a fun day exploring, you deserve it.

Of course, every couple is different. While some enjoy seeing movies or shopping together, others may enjoy bonding more in a kayak or while pier fishing. And the good news is the Myrtle Beach area offers plenty of opportunities for romance no matter how you connect with your partner.
