The Myrtle Beach area is home to a large number of great festivals and events throughout the year. (If you keep up with our events calendar <link>, you likely already know this.) But one of my newer favorites is the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival, celebrating its second year in downtown Myrtle Beach this weekend. While this event is newer to the area, its first year was wildly successful. The combination of an amazing oceanfront view, outstanding food vendors and fun live music make its success no big surprise… we had a blast last year!

This year, the three-day festival kicks off Friday, April 20, and lasts through the weekend. On Friday, the festival will run from 6-10 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday’s hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event was free to attend last year and is free again this year, which also adds to its popularity among visitors and locals alike.

Food truck vendors will serve a wide variety of food, from traditional Southern comfort food to Latin cuisine to pizza to seafood. The event also includes a beer garden, children’s activities, craft vendors and more. The festival is located along the Oceanfront Boardwalk District between 8th and 9th Avenues North in downtown Myrtle Beach. Try to plan a little time to find parking, though we were easily able to find some in the multilevel parking garage on 9th Avenue last year.

The weather this weekend looks like it’s going to be nice and sunny, so we’ll be checking out this fun event again this year for sure.
