Brookgreen Gardens has made 2018 such a fun year for locals and visitors to the Grand Strand. They are just wrapping up their first-ever Summer Lights show and have a full fall schedule of special events and activities. Earlier this month, they debuted the National Sculpture Society 85th Annual Awards Exhibition, and they are the only venue that will host this one of a kind exhibit.

The National Sculpture Society is the oldest professional organization of sculptors in America, so I can see how Brookgreen is the perfect place to display this annual juried exhibition. Brookgreen Gardens already houses the largest outdoor collection of American figurative sculpture in the world, and with this exhibition, they’ll be presenting the work of both masters and rising stars in American sculpture.

Fifteen awards are presented by the National Sculpture Society along with the ever-popular ‘People’s Choice’ Award, which is determined by votes of visitors to Brookgreen Gardens during the exhibition. The exhibit can be viewed during normal operating hours (9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) in both the Jenniwein and Noble Galleries in the Rainey Sculpture Pavilion. Admission to the exhibition is included with general garden admission (Adults are $18, Kids are $10, and Seniors are $16). The 85th Annual Awards Exhibition can be viewed now through October 18, 2018. For more information or to purchase tickets to Brookgreen Gardens online, visit www.brookgreen.org.
