As we all know, The Market Common sits on the site of what used to be the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. So, it goes without saying that we here in the Myrtle Beach area understand the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families.
So, we couldn't be happier that the city of Myrtle Beach is once again hosting Military Appreciation Days through the month of May.
A number of restaurants and attractions will be offering discounts to members of the Armed Services and their families.
There are also a number of events being held throughout May to recognize all who have worn the uniform.
A traveling Vietnam memorial wall will be on display near Crabtree Gymnasium in The Market Common from May 14 through May 18.
There is also the city's Memorial Day Parade on May 24, which runs from 27th Avenue North to Ninth Avenue North on Ocean Boulevard. This year's grand marshal is former talk show host and military veteran Montel Williams.
It's a great month with a number of great events that shine the spotlight on those who we should always remember to thank. They've done a great job in serving our country.
