7 Best Places to Get Engaged Around the Grand Strand

The day you get engaged is a day you will remember for the rest of your life - and planning the perfect engagement is easy at The Beach! We’ve picked out some of the best locations around the Grand Strand to get engaged that offer romantic settings and picture worthy views for that coveted social media picture.

Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens, is not only the largest sculpture garden in the country, but an iconic engagement and wedding location in the Grand Strand. With expansive sculpture gardens, fountains and stone paths, and beautiful flowers and greenery all year round, Brookgreen Gardens will make you feel whisked back in time. Stroll through the romantic, moss-draped oak trees and take in the beauty of your love and the gardens.

2nd Avenue Pier

The 2nd Avenue Pier extends 900 feet out into the ocean with surrounding views of the Atlantic and the Myrtle Beach skyline. Located at one end of the Boardwalk, this pier is close to the resorts, restaurants, and attractions that Myrtle Beach has to offer. With a stunning view into the ocean, the end of the pier is the ideal place to get engaged if you are looking for a unique beach photo opportunity. Then, celebrate at Wicked Tuna with some fresh sushi and other delicious southern cuisine, located next to the 2nd Avenue Pier.

SkyWheel

There are not many places more iconic in Myrtle Beach than the SkyWheel. There have been countless numbers of engagements of couples riding the SkyWheel or with the icon in the background of the photo. The SkyWheel is the place to let your love soar to new heights, while also creating memories at The Beach you won’t forget. Bonus points for proposing at the top of the wheel – 187 feet in the air!

MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet

One of the best places to catch the sun setting on the marsh, the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet is another perfect place to pop the question. With a quarter mile long boardwalk and a marina, there is plenty of space to plan a proposal with views of the marsh, oak trees and the beautiful inlet. After getting engaged, you can celebrate with family and friends at one of the seven restaurants along the MarshWalk, serving up fresh seafood, casual dining, and live music.

Downtown Conway

Just a few miles up the road from Myrtle Beach, you will find Conway, a quaint community with a charming downtown and Riverwalk, a boardwalk along the Waccamaw River. Conway is known for its colorful murals on multiple buildings and charming alleys with twinkling lights and gardens. Find a perfectly placed bench or a scenic view of the river as your backdrop, and you will have an engagement photo to brag about!

Ripley’s Aquarium

Give the fish a front row seat to your proposal by popping the question at Ripley's Aquarium! The blue water and swimming fish through the glass tunnel will be a magical backdrop to your engagement photos. Ripley’s Aquarium is located at Broadway at the Beach, along with other attractions and famous restaurants, perfect for a big celebration.

The Beach

You can’t go wrong with proposing on The Beach. Our 60 miles of beaches have seen many proposals and weddings over the years, and it's always a classic romantic setting. If you plan your proposal and wedding at the same spot on the beach, you can make visiting that spot an annual tradition for years to come! Myrtle Beach is known for its brilliant sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean, so bonus points for proposing at sunrise and capturing the beautiful sky on camera to make a one-of-a-kind photo.
