An annual holiday photo with Santa Claus is a tradition our family loves. And while photos with Santa are bound to look fairly different in 2020, local businesses have gotten creative to make it happen safely for visitors and the big man in red. You may see Santa behind plexiglass, in a mask, or positioned a little further from you than normal… but we’re looking at it as an opportunity to remember a different sort of year. Below is a round-up of just some of the places you’ll find Santa making the rounds:

Grand 14 Theater at The Market Common

On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grand 14 Movie Theater visitors will have the chance to meet and have their photo taken with Santa in a sleigh. Masks are required but may be removed temporarily for a photo. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be seated on the back seat of a sleigh and visitors may sit in the front of the sleigh for pictures. Visit for more information.

Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops

Santa visits will be available by appointment now through December 24, 2020, at Bass Pro Shops (10177 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach). Those who don’t make a reservation ahead of time can make a reservation once in the store using a QR code poster sign. Santa will be seated behind plexiglass with a bench in front for visitors. 4x6 souvenir photos are free and guests may take their own photos or purchase additional packages. Visit to make your reservation.

Coastal Grand Mall

Santa will make his annual visit to the Coastal Grand Mall food court Mondays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m., through December 24, 2020. Christmas Eve he will be available 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to visit Santa is free and professional photos will be available to purchase.
