It’s hard to excuse not having your shopping done if you’re able to visit the Myrtle Beach area in December. From Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing to Tanger Outlets and Coastal Grand Mall, the Grand Strand is home to a wide variety of shopping opportunities packed with seasonal deals this time of year. Ensure you're on the ‘nice’ list by checking off any last-minute gift purchases at some of our favorite places to shop this Christmas season!

If you’re looking for a sentimental souvenir, check out the downtown Myrtle Beach boardwalk district and shops like the Gay Dolphin, with thousands and thousands of items to choose from. Further south, the Hammock Shops Village in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is a great place to scout one-of-a-kind gifts from small boutique retailers. At The Market Common, near Myrtle Beach International Airport, visitors find a large shopping, dining, and entertainment community that is home to a number of unique, local shops, and some national brands. An added bonus here is the chance to stick around for dinner and a movie at Grand 14 Cinema after a day of shopping.

Coastal Grand Mall is a great stop in the days leading up to Christmas, especially if you want to knock out a visit with Santa while wrapping up Christmas shopping. Extended holiday hours and around 1,000,000 square feet of shopping space mean endless options. The Myrtle Beach area is also home to not one but two Tanger Outlets locations, on U.S. Highway 501 near Carolina Forest Boulevard and off U.S. Highway 17 on the north end of Myrtle Beach. Both locations offer incredible savings on brand name items like Gap, Brooks Brothers, Ann Taylor, Tory Burch, Nike, Kate Spade, and more.

Two other outdoor shopping complexes are popular Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. Both have great Christmas decor and events throughout the month of December, but Broadway at the Beach has a giant Christmas tree that doubles as a musical light show every 30 minutes. My kiddos love it. At Broadway, you’ll find stores like the Southern Living Store, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen store, Sunglass Hut, The Mole Hole, and Ron Jon’s Surf Shop, as well as a number of fantastic restaurants. Barefoot Landing is also home to great restaurants, an important factor as you consider last-minute Christmas shopping, and over 100 specialty and gift shops, including The Christmas Mouse, Savannah Bee Company, Monkee’s of Myrtle Beach, Toy Kingdom, and many, many more.
