New Aqua Park Opens at Shark Wake Park

Beat the heat this summer at the new Aqua Park at Shark Wake Park. It’s the largest inflatable, floating obstacle course on the East Coast. Covering an acre of water, the aqua park can hold up to 120 people per hour. It’s the place to be to jump, play and climb this summer. The Aqua Park is the newest addition to Shark Wake Park and marks the completion of the park since it opened one year ago. For the 600 residents that call the town of Aynor home, its people are the best-kept secrets in the Myrtle Beach area . That is what the town’s website proclaims, and it’s a statement we happen to agree with. In its early history, Aynor acted as a railroad terminus from Conway in the 1900s before its incorporation in 1913. Fall is in the air, which means the weather is just perfect for a little run. Well, it’s actually a 13.1-mile run! The Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon returns to the Myrtle Beach area this fall. The race takes place on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, but events will be happening throughout the entire weekend. In addition to the main event, the Grand Strand will play host to a health and fitness expo, the Coastal 5K race and the popular 1.5-mile Doggie Dash.
