This annual celebration returns to downtown Conway on June 28, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The day begins with booth displays at the Artisans Market and Santee Cooper Business Expo on Marina Drive. Make sure and come hungry, because a number of food vendors will be offering tasty morsels for sampling. Once those bellies are full, check out the Anderson Brothers Bank Patriotic Golf Cart Parade along Laurel Avenue from Second Avenue to Marina Drive and…

The Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival is back in a big way here in 2014. And for that, our stomach and taste buds are thankful. The week-long celebration of all things savory, sweet and delicious in the Myrtle Beach area kicked off June 2 with the first of four themed dinners at Castano’s Italian Steakhouse . And just what was that theme, you might be asking? It was bourbon. June 3 saw guests enjoy a tequila-themed meal at Abuelo’s , while the menu for June 4’s dinner at Damon’s Grill centered around a Lowcountry boil. Why yes, we…

These flights will continue to open up the Grand Strand to even more visitors during the summer months of 2014 and beyond. Non-stop service from Lexington, Ky., as well as Columbus, Ohio and Syracuse, N.Y. begins on May 29. Starting May 30, this non-stop service will grow to include Cincinnati, Ohio. So, to all you Buckeyes, Wildcats and Orange men and women, we…

OK everyone, say it with us – Summer is officially here!!! Yeah, yeah, yeah. We realize the “real” first day of summer isn’t until June 21, the day of the summer solstice. We’re ready to ring in the “unofficial” start of summer in style, and we’ve got plenty of activities to choose from. Obviously, with this being Memorial Day Weekend, a number of events are taking place to…

Some Grand Strand natives have gone and made a movie, and now all their hard work is about to pay off with a premier on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the Grand 14 Theater in The Market Common . "A Chess Player" is a labor of love for producer/star Chip White and executive producer Jason Smith, both from the Myrtle Beach area . White's sister is none other than "Wheel of Fortune" staple and North Myrtle Beach native Vanna White. The film is described as, "about what happens when the thing you love, or the thing you are passionate about, becomes…
