Now this sounds like an amazing nature experience we want to take part in. Tours de Sandy Island offers nature buffs the chance to search for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker and a variety of other songbirds. OK, we digress. The Atlantic is just so appealing on this beautiful December day, where the temperature is 70 degrees. Oh yes, there's one other thing about the holidays that we love, and that's all the lights. And nothing will get us in the spirit of the season like Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland .…

One of the Myrtle Beach area's most popular holiday displays is back and bigger than ever this year. Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles has been expanded to nine nights this year due to popular demand. The dates are: Dec. 5 through Dec. 7; Dec. 12 through Dec. 14; and Dec. 19 through Dec. 21. The gardens come to life this holiday season amid the soft glow of over 5,500 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights from 3 to 10 p.m. each night. We can't think of anything more festive during this magical time of year than…
