Posts from October 2019

Those of us who call the Myrtle Beach area home love October. It’s easy to understand once you’ve visited the Grand Strand in the fall. The weather is sunny and still oh-so-warm, and there is something to do practically every day of the month. Listing every single October festival and event in a blog post would require some hefty reading from our visitors, so we’ve compiled a good list rounding out some of the many events celebrating Halloween in Myrtle Beach instead. You’ll find both family-friendly events and some more adult geared events…

On October 31st, join a community of costumed adults, children, and pets at The Market Common from 5 – 7 p.m. for what has become an annual tradition of trick-or-treating at the stores, restaurants and entertainment venues. Others will come to enjoy the festive people-watching from the outdoor seating areas of most of The Market Common’s eateries. The Headless Coachman returns to offer Complimentary Haunted Carriage Rides, and a Monster Mash outdoor dance party for kids and adults will be thrown on the Grand 14 Plaza, both from 5 – 8 p.m. 810…

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., October 10, 2019– The Vacation Myrtle Beach resort group is in its fourth year in a partnership with the American Cancer Society in hosting the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Beach Walk and Family Fun Day” on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The family event is open to the public and participation is completely free. “We are so thrilled to be working with the American Cancer Society for the fourth annual Making Strides event in Myrtle Beach,” said Matt Klugman, Chief Operating Officer for Vacation Myrtle Beach. “The event…

The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation's popular Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival returns Friday and Saturday, November 1 and 2, 2019. The star of this super fun event is its seafood, but it also features beverage and artisan vendors and takes place at the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, located between 8th and 9th Avenues North in downtown Myrtle Beach. Admission to this event is free, which I love. It also takes place during a time of year where attendees can expect less congestion in the downtown Myrtle Beach area, which I also…

The countdown has begun for thousands of runners who will head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for the annual Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon, Coastal 5k and Doggie Dash on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, 2019. This annual half marathon is a favorite among runners due to its flat course, mild temperatures and scenic coastal backdrop. The marathon weekend offers three separate events for runners at all skill levels: The Coastal 5k, Doggie Dash, and the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon. The Coastal 5K event (3.1 miles) is set for 6 to 11 a.m. on…

Taste of the Town is back November 5 th at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center! Established in 1984, this is the Grand Strand’s original food festival and ultimate food lover’s paradise. Not only will you find samples from dozens of the area’s finest restaurants, but there will also be live entertainment, silent auction, and beer garden. You will buy an admission ticket to enter the event, then food and drinks are available for 1-4 tickets that you can buy for $1 each. This is hands down my favorite food event of the year. It’s a great way to see…

October is one of my favorite months here along the sunny Grand Strand. Summer heat has begun to subside along with the humidity, and it’s an all around great time to be outdoors—especially with little ones! This month also offers a ton of free festivals and events, and I’ve included five of my kiddos’ favorite October festivals below. We also have a ton of neat activities scheduled for Halloween, as well, and we’ll share those in a coming post! 1. Brookgreen Gardens Harvest Home Weekend Festival This two-day celebration of the fall season…
