34 Years of World-Class Entertainment from The Carolina Opry On June 2, 1986, when Calvin Gilmore opened his doors to the first paying customers of The Carolina Opry, few locals or vacationers knew what to expect. Another country bar? Maybe Hee Haw at the beach? What they got was a breath of fresh air, a sensational show in a cool theater. The kind of show you could take your kids or your grandmother to—but it also blew back the hair of your hard-to-please brother-in-law from New York. By late summer the word had gotten around that something…

Each city on the list offers a cost of living that is lower than the national average and housing costs that are more in line with incomes. Research also…

Attendees can enjoy more than 30 regional and national craft beers from breweries, including Wicked Weed, Stone, Terrapin, Holy City, Palmetto and many others. Tickets are $40 for Brookgreen members, $45 for the general…

Those of us who call the Myrtle Beach area home love October. It’s easy to understand once you’ve visited the Grand Strand in the fall. The weather is sunny and still oh-so-warm, and there is something to do practically every day of the month. Listing every single October festival and event in a blog post would require some hefty reading from our visitors, so we’ve compiled a good list rounding out some of the many events celebrating Halloween in Myrtle Beach instead. You’ll find both family-friendly events and some more adult geared events…

The Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation's popular Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival returns Friday and Saturday, November 1 and 2, 2019. The star of this super fun event is its seafood, but it also features beverage and artisan vendors and takes place at the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, located between 8th and 9th Avenues North in downtown Myrtle Beach. Admission to this event is free, which I love. It also takes place during a time of year where attendees can expect less congestion in the downtown Myrtle Beach area, which I also…
