Stone Brewing In Myrtle Beach?

Right now, an effort is underway to lure a renowned brewing company to the Myrtle Beach area . The Myrtle Beach Area Regional Economic Development Corporation has begun a social media blitz to convince Stone Brewing Company , the United States' 10th largest craft brewery, to open their new east coast-based brewery and beer garden along the Grand Strand. Officials with the EDC went live on March 12, 2014 with a Facebook page called "Stone Brewed on the Beach." As of 2:30 p.m. on March 14, it had over 2,700 "likes." EDC officials are heading…

Coastal Carolina's men's basketball team fired up a packed HTC Center Sunday afternoon as they handily defeated Winthrop 76-61 to win the 2014 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Conference Men's Championship. With the conference championship in hand, the Chanticleers get an automatic ticket to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. It's CCU's first tournament bid since 1993. There's no shortage of sand in the Myrtle Beach area . With 60 miles of beautiful, uninterrupted beaches, that shouldn't come as a surprise. But we were once again pleasantly surprised with the fantastic work done by a crew from Florida, who turned 175 tons of sand into art. Team Sandtastic , out of Tampa, was again commissioned to build a sand sculpture to coincide with the 2014 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Conference Championships .
